Hey locals! I’ll be sitting at the Caspian Arts gallery in the grange building in Greensboro this afternoon (8/3) from 2-5. There’s a beautiful collection of art, jewelry and sculpture by regional artists. Here are some of the paintings that I’ll be taking over today. Enjoy!

These paintings are up at the Caspian Arts gallery at the grange in Greensboro right now 😀 There are some really beautiful pieces of art on display by some of the talented artists in the area. The gallery is open 11-5 Saturdays and Sundays. It’s such a relaxing and airy space; worth the trip!

The titles and prices of the paintings are on each picture individually. I’ll be staffing the gallery on 8/3 from 2-5…stop by!

I get kind of tired of the neutral landscape that is Vermont in the winter, especially on cloudy days. This is a summer scene from my hometown and I love the contrast of the darker foreground with the clearing, bright sky. I started with a pink and purple underpainting to add some interest and to satisfy my need for color. I love the light coming from the farmhouse window 😍 It’s in my Etsy shop for $64, link in bio.

I’ve been working with an art coach for almost a year now, and have really enjoyed it. She’s in California so we meet online and she often gives me exercises to try as I work toward getting more clear about my artistic voice. This was a ‘paint in the style of…’ challenge, where I had to identify a photo, choose three artists whose work I love and then paint that scene in their style. It was so helpful as a way to get more clear about my own way of working, ironically.

The original photo is followed by, clockwise, the styles of Tom Perkinson, Jeane Weigel, and Grace Afonso.

I’m curious to know if you have a favorite. I’m going to paint the scene in my own style, so I’ll post that soon.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to show up in the world with my art over the last few months. I went from ‘what’s the point?’ to ‘it’s one way I can make a difference’, so I’ve opened my Etsy shop back up and am selling paintings for a very reasonable price. Hoping to find my original art new homes and use the profits to do some good in the world. Link to my Etsy shop in bio. Enjoy!

Hi everyone! I’ve decided to stick with Meta for the moment, although I’m not feeling great about it. When there’s a viable option I’ll make a switch but I’ll stay with the goal of putting art and other good stuff into the world. I’ve decided to open my Etsy shop up again as a way to get my paintings into new homes. I have quite a few in the studio and I’ll be listing them as I’m able.

All profits, after expenses, are going directly into an account I set up to support a first generation college student with costs like gas, food, books. I’ve been trying to find small but meaningful ways to make a difference in the world and setting up this small account has inspired me to create more art and sell what I already have on hand. There is a very direct line between your purchase and making college more affordable for this young woman. Thank you ❤️

Well it’s been a heck of a long time since I’ve posted 🙂 More on that later, but these three small pastels will be on display in the Gems show at the Bryan Gallery in Jeffersonville soon. This is a great show of pieces (8x10 or smaller) by local and regional artists. This is the first time I’ve entered the show and I’m happy to be part of it. Click on each photo for its name and size.

Last Light on Last Snow 6x6 pastel. Speaking of light, is everyone ready for the eclipse tomorrow?? We’re lucky to be in the path of totality and getting full sunshine. Not sure which is a more rare event in VT 🌘😀

I love to discover beauty in unexpected places. I remember the moment I saw the sky reflected in the track left by the skidder at our log landing, and I’ve wanted to paint the scene for a while. There’s a lot of beauty in logging, actually. The ends of the logs, the new paths in the woods, the smell of the freshly cut trees. I love the glow in this piece and hope you do too. 20x20 acrylic.
