Joy School of Dance Our studio is a welcoming environment where creativity flourishes and friendships are forged.

At the Joy School we have gathered a stellar faculty to bring out the “star” in each student. With decades of dance experience beginning at the Joy School and continuing with classes at Point Park University, the International Ballet Theatre and numerous dance seminars and workshops, many years teaching dance, a degree in education, and two children of her own, Miss Sharon personifies the Joy Scho

ol tradition of excellence. The average stay of our students is from toddler to teen and beyond. Students most often graduate to the Junior Company and the Company. The many levels of instruction are just one of our strengths, another is the ratio of teacher to student. Our students happiness and positive self-images are essential to their growth as individuals. We believe the most certain element of success is a positive mental attitude and we encourage this verbally and with the use of achievement charts, picture pages, and stickers.

We wanted to share an update about an incident that occurred at the studio this evening.

There was a small electrical fire in one of our studios during class tonight. Our staff responded immediately, evacuated the building, and contacted families for pick‑up. The fire was contained quickly with a fire extinguisher, and the Crafton Volunteer Fire Department arrived right away to ensure everything was safe. We’re very grateful for their fast response and support.

Cleanup will begin tomorrow. Out of an abundance of caution, all classes are canceled for this Saturday so the space can be fully cleaned and cleared. At this time, we are hopeful that everything will be ready for us to resume our regular schedule on Monday.

Thank you for your understanding and for the kindness you always show our staff and dancers. We’re grateful everyone is safe and that our community handles unexpected moments with such calm and care.
