A fun and easy going youth rodeo in Cowley WY 2026 on May 16th at 9am. Geared towards beginners. Kids compete in exciting rodeo events.

🤠 ROCKY MOUNTAIN YOUTH RODEO – IMPORTANT INFO 🤠

📅 Saturday May 16th
⏰ Rodeo Starts at 9:00 AM

We are excited to see everyone for a fun day of kids, horses, learning and rodeo memories! Please read through the following information carefully before rodeo day arrives:

⭐ SIGN IN OPENS AT 8:00 AM under the Crow’s Nest
ALL contestants MUST sign in AND have a waiver signed BEFORE entering the arena. No exceptions.

💵 CASH ONLY
• $10 per event
• $10 Hide Race
• $20 Team Roping

📋 Draws will be posted BOTH on Facebook later this week AND on the wall at the rodeo grounds the morning of the rodeo. Please double check your entries when posted.

📢 IMPORTANT REMINDER 📢
ALL updates, weather announcements, draw changes, schedule adjustments and rodeo information will be posted on the page ONLY.

Please keep an eye on the page leading up to and throughout rodeo day. We will not be sending individual messages or updates elsewhere.

🤝 Parent volunteers are there to HELP!
This is a beginner and learning environment. Volunteers help rope, pull the hide, assist behind the chutes, help with gear, and help kids get on stock. We are all here for the kids and want everyone to succeed and have a great experience.

⚠️ A reminder to all contestants and families:
Drama, arguing, and poor sportsmanship will NOT be tolerated. What the judges and arena staff say is final. Period.

Need a little extra time between events? Need an entry rolled to the end? JUST ASK! We are happy to help make the day run smoothly for everyone.

Bring your lawn chairs, sunscreen, patience and loud cheering voices! We can’t wait to see everyone May 16th! 🤎💛

🐮 Dummy Ropers
This video shows you what to expect!

At the start line, tell the timer your name and when they say ‘Go!’ you rope that dummy from the line and when you pull your slack, time will be called!

Ropes will be available to use at the rodeo!

⚡️Fun fact! ⚡️
There is only a barrel to mark the barrier for all the roping events!

You can’t rope the calf/steer until its head crosses the barrel. 🛢️

No rope barrier for your horses to go through! 📿

As a reminder-
No horses are needed in the goat ribbon pull or the goat tying! It will run just like this video!

Tell the timer your name, and when they say ‘go’ you go to the goat!

When you pull the ribbon off, run back to the timer and time will stop!

When you’re done tying- throw your hands up and time is called!

This rodeo is geared toward kids who are new or learning rodeo! If you rodeo frequently, compete more than a handful of times in the year, win while competing more often than not, compete in both open and youth…. This rodeo is not for you. We reserve the right to turn kids away if we believe their rodeo skill level is more than beginner/learning level. Our goal is to give beginners or those trying to learn a place to compete against like competitors. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER IF YOU ARE MORE THAN BEGINNER LEVEL!
