"Winter Redbird" watercolor and acrylics on paper, 8x10 ish. ($160) I started this last year about this time but got bored and frustrated with it and left it propped against the wall on the work table in the corner. This week was finally the right time to realize it was practically done and fixing what was bugging me was no big deal. I told my husband I was finishing it and he said, "I remember that cardinal you were freaking out about for no reason because there was nothing wrong with it." It feels nice to be seen and understood đŸ˜„

"Running into a friend on a gray, muddy day" watercolor and acrylics on cotton paper. Fox and Robin will fit in an 8x10 matte but I painted out the whole background on this 10x14 sheet of paper to create options for framing. ($160)

I have several good excuses for why I haven't been able to spend a lot of time painting the last couple of weeks. Never mind that. I said the word "sashiko" out loud to another person and cast a spell on myself - I'm fixated and I should definitely be working on other things. It's something where I've been familiar with the principles but haven't practiced much. (Same with hand writing Japanese.)

This is not just a quality vintage/thrift/local art store but it's going to be a great community resource in conjunction...
