Olde Town Covington, Inc. to Celebrate Main Street Accreditation!

Olde Town Covington, Inc. is proud to announce a community celebration to honor its 2026 Main Street Accreditation, a national recognition that highlights downtown revitalization, historic preservation, economic development, and community engagement.

The celebration will take place on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 5:30–7:00 PM at Hotel Collins Park, 120 S. Maple Ave., in Covington, VA. Community members, local businesses, volunteers, and visitors are all invited to attend.

The event will recognize the hard work and dedication that helped Olde Town Covington, Inc. earn accreditation through Main Street America and Virginia Main Street. Guests can enjoy finger foods provided by City Cafe & Brewery, teas and water, cupcakes, and an evening celebrating downtown growth and community commitment. Main Street Accreditation demonstrates excellence in supporting local businesses, preserving historic character, organizing community events, and building a welcoming downtown for residents and visitors alike. Guests will also have the opportunity to talk with Olde Town Covington, Inc. board members and staff about what accreditation means to Covington.

“This accreditation reflects the passion and commitment of our entire community,” said Kester Dingus, Executive Director of Olde Town Covington, Inc. “Together, we are continuing to build a vibrant and thriving downtown for future generations.”

📢Reminder for Families:

Friday, Jan. 9, is a student attendance day, not a teacher workday. This change was approved by the School Board on Dec. 15 to make up for instructional days missed due to winter weather.

Students should attend school as usual, following the normal schedule.

We appreciate the understanding and flexibility of families and staff as we work to meet required instructional time and support student learning.
