Steve Poltz is more than a songwriter—he's a one-of-a-kind live performer whose shows are equal parts concert, comedy, storytelling, and joyful chaos. No two performances are ever the same. Expect brilliant guitar playing, razor-sharp wit, spontaneous improvisation, and songs that can have you laughing one moment and tearing up the next.
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, raised in Southern California, and now calling Nashville home, Poltz has spent more than three decades building a legendary career on the road. He first gained acclaim as the frontman of cult-favorite band The Rugburns before co-writing Jewel's multi-platinum hit "You Were Meant for Me." Since then, he's released over a dozen acclaimed solo albums, collaborated with artists including Billy Strings, Molly Tuttle, Sierra Hull, and Oliver Wood, and earned praise from NPR, Rolling Stone, Billboard, and the Associated Press for his prolific songwriting and unforgettable performances.
A beloved festival favorite around the world, Steve has become known for treating every performance as if it's "the greatest show of his life"—and somehow, the next one always tops the last. His infectious energy, heartfelt songs, and unpredictable stage presence have earned him a fiercely loyal fanbase and the reputation as one of live music's best-kept secrets.
Whether he's sharing hilarious stories, delivering deeply moving songs, or insisting he's an attorney for dogs, Steve Poltz creates an experience that's impossible to duplicate and impossible to forget.
