We’re looking for amazing food vendors to join us at the Council Mountain Music Festival on August 21st & 22nd in Council, Idaho!

From savory eats to sweet treats—any kind of food is allowed & welcomed! This is a great opportunity to be part of a fun, high-energy weekend filled with great music, good people, and yummy food.

The Council Mt. Music Festival directors need some input from the community.
We are exploring the idea of hiring a bigger-name band (spending more money for one big act) for this August – with the goal of attracting a bigger audience. We need input from area folks as to what they would come to see. Country? Bluegrass? Something in between? Something different? Please give us ideas as to who you would come to see/hear or who you think would draw more people to attend.

Council Greens Golf Course is graciously letting us host a tournament to raise money for the Council Mountain Music Festival🎵⛳️ This Saturday, in Council, ID. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made the 23rd Annual Council Mountain Music Festival such a success! 🎶💃

To our sponsors and donors – your support keeps this tradition alive year after year. To the extremely talented bands and artists – thank you for filling our mountain air with music. We hope you all liked us enough to come back sometime soon! To our vendors – we appreciate the food, drinks, and goods that added so much to the festival experience! And to all of our attendees and supporters – your presence and energy are what truly make this festival special!

We’re already excited for next year! If you have any band or vendor suggestions, or if you’d like to be a part of our festival team, we’d love to hear from you. Planning begins early in the new year, and your ideas help us grow.

We will be kicking it off with Dusty Huckleberries at 5:30. See you all (with your lawn chairs and/or blankets) for tonight’s shindig!! 🎵 🎶

Music Festival is this weekend

The 23rd annual Council Mountain Music Festival will feature six bands this weekend that will include quite a variety of styles.
Friday evening starts at 5:30 with the “Dusty Huckleberries” band from Long Valley performing a variety of Blues and Rock. Next up, at 7:00, is “Frayed Knot,” composed of 5 local musicians (one of which is me). We sometimes call our music as “blurgrass,” because we sometimes blur the boundaries between bluegrass and other genres. At 8:30 the “Blue Sky” band from Boise starts their performance of familiar classic rock tunes.
Saturday will follow a similar schedule, with a great Treasure Valley Country band: Buddy DeVore and the Faded Cowboys starting at 5:30. Next up is a talented duo, “Old Time Harvest,” featuring some great fiddling and vocal harmonies. Back again this year, following their enthusiastically-received performance at last year's festival is “Sheep Bridge Jumpers,” with their high-energy variety of styles that fall somewhere in the broad category of “Americana.”
We will have a few vendors and are still looking for more.
As usual, local churches will hold a music-oriented service on Sunday morning, starting at 10:00 and featuring a very talented musical group from Northwest Nazarene University. A potluck meal will follow the service.
Several younger folks have joined the team organizing the festival, and we are trying a few new things. Last year we hired some high-profile, high-priced bands and the admission price reflected that. This year we feel we have reduced expenses without compromising quality, and we have drastically reduced the admission fee to only $10 (kids 10 and under free).
If you have attended the music festival before, you know that the Veterans Memorial Peace Park is such a pleasant venue with tons of shade trees, and there is such a friendly, family-oriented atmosphere that you will find at no other music festival. So bring your family, your friends and your lawn chairs and enjoy a rare treat with your neighbors in our small, rural town.
