"Follow My Instructions" is an excerpt from an evening length work in progress. This piece explores the dangers of AI in our society. No matter how smart or "human" an AI program gets, it will never be able to replace people, their experiences, and the art they create.

This is the day we get to celebrate you a little extra. The day you were born and the day your presence was stitched into the world. How wonderful it is, that we have been sewn into this life, right beside you! Your strength, creativity, bravery, perseverance, love of learning, boldness, gentleness, the way you listen, the way you teach, your fierce love. These are just some of the things we recognize and admire in you. You are a force in the greatest of ways. Happy Birthday to the sweetest, kindest, most loving person we will ever have the joy of knowing. Erin’s calm reassuring presence brings peace with her wherever she goes. She makes you feel seen, and heard, and deeply loved. Her grace knows no bounds and her embrace is a reminder of the deep connection we all share as we navigate this world together.
