🌸 Q2: Caitybug’s Garden
(The Legacy Nest)
​Before Robin’s Nest could truly take flight, it had to pass the most difficult test of all: The Caitlynn Test.
​While I was running my original shop in Alaska, my daughter Caitlynn
(our beloved "Caitybug") was never far—she even homeschooled right there in the yarn store among the skeins. She spent her days exploring the downtown Ketchikan with her camera in hand, seeing the world through a lens and capturing the vibrant, tiny details of our island home.
​She would come to me with a photo and challenge me: "Dye the yarn to match this, mom!"
​If I didn’t capture the perfect deep crimson of an Alaskan salmonberry, the striking magenta of a wild fireweed blossom, or the verdant shadow of the old-growth Sitka spruce, I had to dye it over. Her strict eye for nature’s flawless color balance pushed me to my limits—and that standard of perfection still defines every skein in my nest today.
