Hill Country Community Theatre

The Hill Country Community Theatre enriches and engages the community by producing and promoting live theatre and arts education.

HCCT is a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation serving Central Texas. Since 1985, the Hill Country Community Theatre has served the public as a showcase for extraordinary local talent. Performances are acclaimed for the professionalism of the sets, the costumes and, of course, the acting. This charming playhouse features a spacious lobby and a comfortable house that seats 146 audience members. HCCT h

as staged many outstanding productions over the years. From compelling dramas and hilarious comedies, to high-stepping musicals, HCCT offers a wide variety of entertainment every season. Auditions for upcoming productions happen throughout the year and are open to the public. The theater is always in need of volunteers to work behind-the-scenes. There are countless ways in which you can be involved. Some of the many tasks that volunteers take on include costumes, props, lighting, marketing and box office. If you enjoy meeting new people in a creative environment, then we have a place for you!

If you’ve been thinking about auditioning, TODAY is your last chance!

Join us at 2:00 PM today, Sunday, August 30th, for the final round of auditions for Irving Berlin’s White Christmas.

We’re looking for singers, actors, dancers, tappers, and character performers to help bring this beloved holiday musical to the HCCT stage. With a large cast and plenty of featured and ensemble opportunities, there are lots of ways to be part of the show!

Auditions for Irving Berlin’s White Christmas are happening THIS WEEKEND at Hill Country Community Theatre!

Saturday, August 29th at 6:00 PM
Sunday, August 30th at 2:00 PM

Please prepare:
• 16–32 bars from a Golden Age musical or a song similar in style to White Christmas
• Be prepared for cold reads from the script
• Everyone will learn a movement combination
• There will also be a separate tap call in addition to the movement combination for those who can tap.

🎭 And That’s a Wrap on The Mystery of Irma Vep, and Season 40!

The final curtain has fallen on The Mystery of Irma Vep, and with it, we officially close the book on an incredible 40th Season at Hill Country Community Theatre.

A huge thank you to Tim Dey and Cody Petty, who took on the extraordinary challenge of bringing an entire cast of characters to life. We are equally grateful to the director, creative team, crew, production staff, and volunteers whose countless hours behind the scenes made this production possible. Live theatre is always a team effort, and every person who lends their time and talent plays an important part in what ultimately appears on our stage.

And to our audiences, donors, sponsors, volunteers, and the entire Highland Lakes community, thank you.

Season 40 was a milestone for HCCT, and what a year it has been. From Young Frankenstein to The Winter Wonderettes, Lend Me a Tenor, Lost in Yonkers, Into the Woods, and finally The Mystery of Irma Vep, along with concerts, special events, youth theatre, and so much more, you showed up for us again and again.

You bought tickets. You filled our seats. You donated. You volunteered. You applauded. You laughed with us, cried with us, and reminded us why live theatre matters.

Forty seasons don't happen without a community that believes in what we do. ❤️

We are incredibly grateful for everyone who helped make this anniversary season one to remember.

🎭 SUNDAY IS SOLD OUT — BUT YOU STILL HAVE TWO CHANCES TO SEE IRMA VEP!

The final curtain is coming down on The Mystery of Irma Vep this weekend, and our Sunday matinee is officially SOLD OUT!

Opening weekend was a hit, and audiences are already talking about the incredible performances from Tim Dey and Cody Petty and the wonderfully over-the-top world created on stage.

If you haven't seen it yet, this is your last chance to experience one of the funniest and most theatrical shows of the season. The Mystery of Irma Vep opens THIS FRIDAY, August 14th, and if you're wondering, “What in the world is Irma Vep?” — let us explain.

First and foremost: IT'S A COMEDY!

HCCT audience favorites Tim Dey and Cody Petty play an entire cast of characters in this wildly funny spoof of old Gothic mysteries and melodramas. We're talking suspicious servants, a mysterious manor, werewolves, vampires, an Egyptian princess, outrageous accents, and two actors racing backstage for lightning-fast costume changes before appearing moments later as someone completely different.

It's clever. It's absurd. It's fast. And watching Tim and Cody pull the whole thing off is half the fun.

And Opening Night is going to be extra special.

We're opening our doors early at 6:00 PM to celebrate our beloved longtime volunteer Box Office Manager Louraine Robertson as she prepares to retire after nearly 30 years of service to HCCT. Come by, give Louraine some love, share a memory, and enjoy complimentary food and drinks as part of our Opening Night Gala.

❤️ Join Us in Celebrating a True HCCT Treasure ❤️

After nearly 30 years of dedicated service, our beloved Box Office Manager, Louraine Robertson, will be retiring at the end of August.

Since joining the HCCT family in 1997, Louraine has been one of the first smiling faces to welcome countless patrons through our doors. She has helped thousands of audience members find their seats, answered endless phone calls, sold tickets with patience and kindness, and has been a constant, steady presence through nearly three decades of productions, volunteers, directors, and seasons.

To say she will be missed is an understatement.

To celebrate Louraine and thank her for everything she has given to Hill Country Community Theatre, we invite all of our patrons, volunteers, cast members, and friends to stop by during our Opening Night Gala for The Mystery of Irma Vep on Friday, August 14th.

🕕 Special Celebration: 6:00–7:30 PM

Normally our Opening Night Gala begins at 6:30 PM, but on this special evening we'll open the theatre at 6:00 PM to give everyone a little extra time to visit with Louraine, share memories, and thank her for nearly three decades of service to HCCT. This will be a come-and-go celebration, with the curtain rising on The Mystery of Irma Vep at 7:30 PM.

Can't make it on August 14th? Don't worry! Louraine will continue working in the box office through the end of August, so you'll still have opportunities to stop by, say hello, and wish her all the best as she begins this exciting new chapter.

While we'll certainly miss seeing her at the theatre, we couldn't be happier for Louraine and her husband as they look forward to spending more time together and continuing their adventures traveling the country.

Thank you, Louraine, for nearly 30 years of friendship, dedication, and unwavering support of HCCT. Your impact on this theatre and on everyone who has had the pleasure of working with you will be felt for years to come. ❤️
