Hi friends!

I’m going to be teaching an event photography class at SCC this fall and wanted to invite anyone to join who has been curious about shooting weddings, other events, or improving their photo sessions.

Some Things We Will Be Covering:
- Scouting locations
- Confidently shooting in any lighting situation
- Evoking emotion in your subjects
- Posing and prompts
- Different types of event photography
- All things weddings
- Starting a photo business & creating a brand
- Business organization, structure, & pricing
- Wearing all the hats as a business owner
- Avoiding burn out
- Workflow and delivering images to clients

Highlights:
- In-class photo sessions with models
- In-class editing time for assignments
- Guest speakers
- Finish the class with a full digital portfolio & the tools needed to make it as an event photographer

Info:
- Photo 1 or equivalent knowledge of camera & Lightroom basics are required for this course.
- ART-2870 Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:00-6:50
- St. Charles Community College

I’ve worked really hard on this and I think it will be a lot of fun! I’m super excited to share what I’ve learned over the years and hopefully help kickstart someone else’s photo journey! Please share so I can fill up the class😊

It is SO incredibly strange to me that I just delivered my last wedding. I’m not even sure how to feel right now. Part of me wants to cry, part wants to smile, or maybe just breathe a sigh of relief.
Crazy how something that was SUCH a large part of my life (arguably too much of my life) for the past 5 years is done, just like that. Sitting alone in my home office at 9:30 at night.
I couldn’t have hand picked a better wedding to be my last. Ending on such a high note leaves only happy memories at the surface of what the last 5 years have been. I can’t say thank you enough to those who have trusted me to bottle up life’s most precious moments for them.
Forever grateful for this experience.

Last weekend I shot my last wedding.
I know this may come as a surprise to some of you because I have not posted about getting out of the wedding business. This is because I never wanted my current couples to feel unwanted in any way, since that is truly not the case! Most days I love my job. The people it connects me with and the pure joy I get to be surrounded by are some of the reasons I have continued to do this for as long as I have.
I will still be 2nd shooting for other photographers periodically. However, taking on the responsibility and commitment of running my own weddings is ultimately not setting me up for the lifestyle I want to lead, so it is time to move on.
Thank you to all of the couples I’ve spent most of my weekends with for the past 5 years. It has been an honor to be privy to all the intimate and emotional moments of one of the most important days of people’s lives. I can’t adequately explain how much it means to have been trusted with such special memories. Thank you endlessly.❤️

It’s going to be hard to be as handsome as my puppers but we can try!
Christmas Mini Sessions will be held in a studio in St. Charles on November 13th.
20 minutes - 10 images - $200
Photos will be delivered in time for Christmas cards!
It will be a simple set up, much like the ones in the photos. Dogs are welcome. 🐶

Additionally, I’ll be out of office until Monday because I’m taking a family girls trip to Chicago to see FRIDA’S ARTWORK IN PERSON! ❤️🌸 I’ll be responding to messages on Monday. Thanks and have a great weekend!
