New crepe + boba spot at UCI’s University Town Center 🥭🧋

Tried two crepes:
🍫 Old School Crepe经典炙烤焦糖费列罗 ($10.99)
Classic caramelized sugar + Ferrero-style crepe. Overall it’s on the sweeter side — more of a rich dessert-style crepe.

🥭 Yes to All Crepe - 鲜芒米香糯糯饼($10.99)
This mango sticky rice one is definitely better. Not overly sweet or heavy — the sweetness mainly comes from the fruit itself. They use small Taiwanese mangoes, which are very smooth in texture and quite sweet, even sweeter than the Mexican mangoes I’ve had before. Inside is sticky rice paste and cream, and the overall combination is really well balanced 🤤

🥭 Mango Sticky Rice Smoothie ($7.50)
The mango sticky rice flavor is very well recreated. The portion is very generous — a full large cup. Overall it’s quite refreshing and not too heavy.

☁️ Jasmine Cloud（$ 6.50）
💗💗💗💗💗This was the best drink I ordered. The tea flavor is very strong with a noticeable tea aroma. The milk foam on top is also really good. It tastes refreshing whether you drink it separately or mixed together.

🍌🍵 Banana Matcha ($6.75)
The matcha flavor is quite light — more like a regular café-level matcha drink. I had high expectations for the banana cream topping, but the texture was a bit powdery and not really my preference.

🍉🥥 Watermelon Coconut ($6.75)
Very refreshing watermelon coconut drink, especially suitable for summer.

Also… the interior is really cute 🥹 warm and cozy with a soft, aesthetic vibe.

Overall: Mango Sticky Rice Crepe + Jasmine Cloud are the top recommendations ✨

Huo Zhou Wang Porridge: $$-$$$

One of the most satisfying clay pot porridge spots in SGV. The seafood congee is super comforting—loaded with scallops, jumbo shrimp, and you can level it up with a rich, roe-packed crab 🦀. Everything tastes really fresh and the portions are very generous.

Perfect for cold days—a big steaming pot that’s easily enough for two. Don’t skip the braised pork trotter on the side either, it’s super soft and fall-apart tender. Seafood is market price, but the base porridge is actually quite reasonable unless you go heavy on add-ons.

If you’re a milk tea person, you NEED to try the Oolong Milk Tea With Soybean Cheese Foam 🤍
Like… genuinely one of the most unique drinks I’ve had in a while.

The soybean cheese foam is super silky and rich without being too heavy.
And trust me on this — DO NOT use a straw for this one 😂
You have to drink it straight from the cup so you get the foam + tea together in one sip. Totally different experience.

The Kyoho Grape Jasmine Tea Smoothie with Jelly was also sooo good 🍇
The grapes tasted really fresh, super sweet, and crisp.
The fruit pieces honestly feel more like actual toppings instead of just flavoring.

And the Mango Pomelo Sago… literally packed with ingredients 🥭
So many textures in one drink, and every sip is good.

Also, there’s no tea base in the Mango Pomelo Sago and it’s caffeine-free, so kids can drink this one too!

Tokyo’s viral beef tongue spot just opened in LA 🫪

I can’t believe I just had Gyutan no Lemon in Los Angeles…

Everything is grilled over charcoal right in front of you
and the smell is insane the moment it hits the table

They use the top 20% of premium beef tongue cuts
and the thick cut is honestly next level

It’s super tender inside
slightly charred outside
and crazy juicy

You can even do a thick + thin cut combo, so you get two textures in one meal

The beef rib is also insanely good
super flavorful and honestly kind of addictive

and it takes everything to another level

Queued 2 HOURS and still worth it 😭🔥
This skewer spot in Rowland Heights stays open till 3AM — and it’s ALWAYS packed.

Wagyu skewers for basically coins…
like $1 per skewer?? hello???

If you don’t wanna wait forever, here’s what we kept grabbing AGAIN and AGAIN (like 4+ rounds lol):

First — WAGYU skewers.
This section is ALL wagyu. Fatty, lean, everything hits.
I personally love the fatty + lean combo — once it’s grilled, you get that buttery, milky beef aroma…
slightly crispy on the outside??? SO GOOD.
And the fat literally fuels the fire so it cooks super fast.

Second — SHRIMP.
I’m not even kidding, this one shocked me.
Pre-peeled, super fresh, juicy, bouncy, slightly sweet.
We kept reordering this NONSTOP… from start to finish.

Third — GRILLED PINEAPPLE.
This is a MUST.
Grilled = extra sweet.
One bite of wagyu + one bite of pineapple… insane combo. Trust me.

Fourth — BEEF TENDON (牛板筋).
This one cooks really fast too.
Chewy in the BEST way — super satisfying texture.
Just don’t overcook it or it gets too tough.

Fifth — GRILLED FLATBREAD.
Crispy on the outside, soft inside… super fragrant.
Wrap it with skewers + chili powder… yeah just go try it.

4 people, FULLY stuffed = $150.
The value??? insane.

This is officially our new late-night go-to 😭🔥

Irvine has me OBSESSED with Korean BBQ lately 😭🔥
This spot literally reignited my love for grilling meat… like I crave it every few days, no joke. If I get off work early? I’m texting friends immediately.

We got the Beef Combo (S) — comes with boneless short ribs, brisket, and marinated short ribs.
But obviously… I had to add extra short ribs AND beef tongue.
Yeah I’m that girl. Rib girl forever.

Super buttery, insanely flavorful, so tender it basically melts in your mouth
I will ALWAYS be weak for ribs

✨ Marinated short ribs
Perfectly caramelized, slightly crispy edges, full-on smoky-sweet goodness
That rich, milky marinade just hits different… addicting af

✨ Brisket
That fatty-lean balance?? Unreal
Juicy, rich, and gets more fragrant the more you chew

The combo also comes with steamed egg + soup
Portions are BIG — we were beyond full

AND the best part? They grill everything for you
You literally just sit there and eat. No stress. Vibes immaculate.

Free banchan surprised me too —
raw marinated shrimp, kimchi pancake, broccoli, seaweed
Every single one actually tasted GOOD (not the usual filler stuff)
