Founded in 1987 by studio glass artists Loretta H. Yang and Chang Yi, LIULI has grown from a modest workshop in Taiwan to Asia’s leading crystal art brand. Liuli is the phonetic spelling of the Han Dynasty term for glass art and is used to honor the Chinese heritage and culture. Records show

that thousands of years ago, the Chinese were highly skilled in pâte de verre but the craft was subsequently forgotten. Yang and Chang revived the craft and reintroduced it into the international arena. LIULI has exhibited in over 30 countries and can be found in eminent museums worldwide.

Discover our New Arrivals - Evergreen Mountain Spirit 🏔️

Yin and Yang are expressed through nature rather than separate symbols. The mountain represents Yang through its strength and rising form, while its flowing curves reflect Yin softness and flexibility.
Inspired by Taiji and traditional Chinese landscapes, its shape resembles the Chinese character for “mountain” (山).
The pine tree represents Yang strength and life, balanced by the stone reflects Yin through its calm, stable, and grounding presence.
Along the mountain slopes, red camellias bloom like small flames, bringing warmth, vitality, and renewal.
Flowing lines inspired by qi connect these elements, creating a peaceful landscape where strength and softness, movement and stillness, exist in harmony.

Inspired by the philosophy of Taichi, each artwork explores the flowing relationship between yin and yang — balance within contrast, movement within stillness, strength within softness.
In Chinese philosophy, Yin and Yang are opposing yet interconnected forces that exist in harmony with one another. Light cannot exist without darkness, and motion cannot exist without stillness. Within every force lives the seed of its opposite, continuously shifting to maintain balance.

“I am in Singapore, remembering the moments we once shared here together. I am so happy that your artwork, A Touch of Red, has been brought home and cherished by someone meant to find it. Although it is your creation, this time I also signed my name beside yours. We will always be together.
Because of all the friends who love us and love LIULI — whether through tangible support or spiritual encouragement — I continue each day filled with confidence and courage, leading the team forward.
This is also the message I continued to emphasize throughout my LIULI Singapore and Malaysia visits, during numbers of interviews and talks.
If we speak of courage, it is not simply an individual state of being, but a relationship. Even in difficult times, we are still willing to believe in one another and continue walking forward together."

Each LIULI crystal flower is handcrafted by artist Loretta H. Yang through pâte de verre: a refined 12-step process at 2,500°F, with some pieces taking up to 6-8 months to complete. Works in permanent collections including the Museum of Arts and Design in New York and the Corning Museum of Glass; the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris; and the Palace Museum in Beijing.
