VENDOR APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN for Lost Skills Gathering!

We’re looking for local and regional makers, growers, craftspeople, artisans, farmers, bakers, herbalists, food producers, homesteaders, traditional tradespeople, and small businesses whose work fits the spirit of the day.

Lost Skills Gathering is not a typical vendor market. It’s a one-day heritage skills festival set within the beauty of Clary Gardens, created to feel like a living village of handmade goods, useful knowledge, old-fashioned skills, local food, demonstrations, good conversation, and community.

We’re especially looking for vendors who personally make, grow, bake, raise, harvest, craft, or produce what they sell. Handmade, homegrown, small-batch, useful, beautiful, traditional, and story-rich goods are exactly what we’re hoping to gather.

Manufactured items, mass-produced goods, MLM products, drop-shipped items, and general buy-sell merchandise are not permitted. This event is curated for real makers and specialists of their craft.

If your work is rooted in land, home, heritage, natural living, old-fashioned usefulness, folk arts, foodways, or small-batch care, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for traditional skills teachers and hands-on demonstrators.

Lost Skills Gathering is still searching for a few specific people who know useful, practical, old-world, homesteading, craft, and land-based skills — and who might be willing to share them with the community.

Right now, we’re especially looking for people who can teach or demonstrate:

• Repair
• Midwifery
• Trapping
• Cheese making
• Natural dyeing
• Tallow rendering / tallow crafts
• Wine making
• Whittling
• Flintknapping
• Food fermentation
• Sourdough
• Woodworking
• Taxidermy
• Wilderness structures
• Animal husbandry

Some skills disappear quietly when fewer people are asked to share them. Lost Skills Gathering was created to help keep useful knowledge alive through demonstrations, hands-on learning, good conversations, and simple community connection.

Teaching doesn’t have to mean standing on a stage. It can be simple, hands-on, conversational, and kind. Show people how something works. Answer questions. Demonstrate a skill. Help pass along something useful before it’s forgotten.

Teachers are supported through our Pay By The Heart tip culture and may sell their own goods for free when they teach.

If this sounds like you, or someone you know, please reach out or tag them below.

Help us find the people who still know how to make, mend, grow, tend, craft, preserve, build, and remember.

We’re honored to officially announce the Lost Skills Gathering, a new one-day hands-on heritage festival coming to Clary Gardens in Coshocton on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

This gathering has been growing from a simple belief: old skills still matter.

Herbalism, foraging, blacksmithing, broom-making, mushroom inoculation, fire-starting, storytelling, homesteading arts, food preservation, practical crafts, and the everyday knowledge passed down through families, neighbors, elders, and working hands. These aren’t just nostalgic ideas. They are useful, grounding, human skills that help connect us back to land, community, and one another.

The Lost Skills Gathering is being created and hosted by the Woodland Herbal family behind Green Path Academy: School of Herbalism, with Historic Roscoe Village joining as a sponsor co-host, and support from our growing circle of community sponsors and partners.

We’re deeply grateful to Historic Roscoe Village, Green Path Academy: School of Herbalism, Woodland Herbal, Shamrock Printing, Lity’s Scrapyard, and Central Ohio Technical College for helping bring this event to life.

This will be more than a craft fair. It will be a living classroom, a family day, a marketplace, a place for stories, a place for teachers, and a place where old knowledge can be practiced, shared, and carried forward.

More teachers, demonstrations, vendors, musicians, and details will be announced as we get closer.

MEETING TIME CORRECTION: 5:00 PM – We're growing something very special in Coshocton, and we’re reaching the point where we need more good hands around the table.

The Lost Skills Gathering is a new one-day festival coming to Clary Gardens, built around the old practical arts that helped people live closer to the land, their homes, their families, and their communities. We’re gathering teachers, makers, gardeners, herbalists, foragers, homesteaders, craftspeople, storytellers, musicians, volunteers, and curious folks who still believe there’s deep value in learning by hand.

To help bring it all together, we’re hosting a Lost Skills Gathering management and planning meeting under the pavilion at Clary Gardens. There will be pizza, conversation, questions answered, ideas shared, and a lot of practical planning for what this festival can become.

We’re looking for volunteers, but we’re also looking for capable, passionate people who may want to step more fully into management staff roles. This event will need organized, dependable folks helping with areas like teacher support, vendor support, setup, parking, hospitality, kids activities, information tables, grounds flow, and the many small moving pieces that make a big community event feel welcoming and well cared for.

Teachers and vendors are welcome to come too. This will be a good chance to ask questions, discuss plans, share ideas, and better understand how the day is being shaped.

If you’ve been excited about the Lost Skills Gathering and wondering how to be part of it, this is a perfect place to begin. Come eat some pizza, meet the people helping build it, and help us carry this thing forward together.

Calling all teachers, makers, growers, crafters, builders, fermentors, farmers, foragers, homesteaders, survivalists, storytellers, and keepers of useful old skills.

The Lost Skills Gathering is coming together (October 3 in Coshocton, Ohio), and we are now working to officially lock in our teacher lineup for this year’s festival.

If you have already reached out with interest in teaching, demonstrating, or leading a hands-on workshop, now is the time to complete the teacher application so we can get you added to the schedule and begin featuring you on the website.

We are looking for people who can help share practical, rooted, hands-on knowledge with the community. This could include heritage crafts, herbalism, gardening, food preservation, animal care, fiber arts, woodworking, blacksmithing, natural living, folk skills, outdoor skills, traditional trades, and more.

Once your application is submitted, we’ll also ask for a short bio and headshot so we can add you to the Lost Skills Gathering website and begin introducing our teachers publicly.

This gathering is being built around the people who still carry these beautiful, useful skills forward. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

Teacher application can be found on the Get Involved page:
www.LostSkillsGathering.com

Please feel free to share this with someone who would be a wonderful fit.

Something special is taking root.

The Lost Skills Gathering is still more than five months away, but behind the scenes, this little village of old ways, handmade skills, music, stories, food, plants, craft, and community is growing by the day.

We are finalizing sponsors, welcoming new teachers, adding musicians and speakers, and slowly shaping the kind of gathering we have all been dreaming about: a place where people can step out of the rush, learn with their hands, remember what humans have always known how to do, and spend a day surrounded by good people, useful skills, and the living world.

A huge thank you to our community partners and sponsors who are helping bring this first year to life. Your support means more than we can say, and it is helping us build something beautiful, practical, and rooted right here in our region.

And teachers, makers, musicians, and speakers: we are still gathering your details for the website. If you are part of this event, please send us your bio and headshot so we can begin introducing you properly.

More announcements are coming soon.

The Gathering is growing.
The old skills are waking up.

We have officially extended the **Lost Skills Gathering Sponsorship Deadline to June 1**.

We heard from several community partners who needed a little more time, and honestly, this mission deserves every good ally it can gather.

The Lost Skills Gathering is about more than one event. It is about rebuilding practical knowledge, bringing generations together, getting kids and families back into hands-on learning, and strengthening the kind of community resilience that cannot be bought online or downloaded to a screen.

We are still welcoming sponsors, local businesses, organizations, farms, makers, educators, and community-minded partners who believe in this work.

If you have been considering becoming part of this gathering, now is the time.

**Sponsorship deadline extended to June 1.**
Come help us build something meaningful from the ground up.
