Here’s a little before and after as we wrap up our 10th season of The Old Capitol Tea Room. It’s become a tradition to end our tea season with a weekend of our White Christmas sing-along tea party, and we were so grateful to have full houses for both teas this weekend.
After our Sunday evening tea, the house slowly goes back to being our house for a while. Once everyone leaves, we pick up the dishes, put away the chairs, tear down the tables, sweep and mop the floors, and bring furniture out from its many hiding places throughout the house. And just like that, the tea room transforms back into our living room and dining room.
And just like that… we’re back to sitting in our living room — a sight we haven’t seen in nine months.
Don’t get me wrong, I am so thankful for a business we get to run from our home, and I truly love hosting teas and welcoming so many of you through our doors. But this quiet, familiar, lived-in moment is a very welcome sight.
The Old Capitol Tea Room is now closed for the season, and we’ll see you again in April. We’ll be sending out a save-the-date soon for when spring and summer tea event tickets go on sale, so be sure you’re subscribed on our website: www.ourtechnicolorlife.com.
Cheers to a little rest, a little reset, and soaking in home before the magic begins again. 💛
