Harrison County Popcorn Festival After 20 years, the Popcorn Festival is back!

This two day event will celebrate one of Harrison Countyโ€™s biggest agricultural products and the official state snack: popcorn!

A very special thank-you goes to ๐๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ง ๐‚๐ก๐ฎ๐ซ๐œ๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ, who takes on the enormous task of popping and supplying ALL of the popcorn that fills the cannon each year. That is a whole lot of kernels, a whole lot of popping, and a whole lot of dedication to one very fun festival tradition.

An equally big thank-you goes to ๐‰๐ ๐‹๐š๐ฐ๐ง๐œ๐š๐ซ๐ž, who takes time away from their regular work, brings out their equipment, and turns that mountain of popcorn into one of the most memorable moments of the festival.

Thank you for the time, equipment, work, and enthusiasm you give us year after year. You donโ€™t just make the Popcorn Cannon happen - you help create one of those moments that make the Harrison County Popcorn Festival OUR festival.

This year, our parade committee had one especially difficult decision to make.

When it came time to select the ๐Œ๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐š๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐œ ๐„๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ฒ, they simply couldnโ€™t choose between two groups who each represented the spirit of the award so well.

The Popcorn Festival may only last two days, but making it happen takes months of planning, preparation, and teamwork, followed by a very busy festival weekend!

Setting up and tearing down, answering questions, organizing contests, assisting vendors, directing activities, and stepping in wherever help was needed, our volunteers kept everything moving. So much happens quietly behind the scenes, but their impact can be seen throughout the entire festival.
