I am so excited to share that my solo exhibition, Perspectives of the Phycosphere, as a part of my PhD dissertation is going to begin on 31st March 2025 at StrandGallery, OSU. Perspectives on the phycosphere part 2: glass sculptures in progress. This exhibit will inform microbiology concepts studied in my dissertation on algal bacterial interactions. Glass prep of algae in the picture is a model diatom that I am studying. Glass models of this diatom are made by using COE 90 fusable glass that is shaped, cut, grinded, washed, added colored grits on it to depict cell structures, and fused at 1425 degrees Celsius.

My new exhibit “Perspectives on the Phycosphere” in progress. This picture depicts the phycosphere- a region surrounding algae(microscopic plants in the ocean). Algae are primary producers in the ocean which forms the basis of the food web in the ocean. For more exciting scientific data inspired art, stay tuned!

Coastal Confluences exhibit. Thanks to Owen Premore, our directing curator, art about Agriculture and Hatfield Marine Science Center for organizing and hosting this event. He gave us a wonderful opportunity and platform to present our work and reach out to broader audiences from different fields. I am grateful to my mentors Dr. Kimberly Halsey, Dr. Jerri Bartholomew, Dr. James Fox, and Dr. Martin Storksdieck for making this project’s first step successful. .seminarium
