This unnamed piece is soooo hard to photograph because of the mirror. If you want to see a video of it, go to LeighWaggoner on Instagram. It's made of recycled, hand-cut travertine, recycled stained glass, recycled mirror, and smalti. All suggestions for names will be welcomed. I'm at a loss. (My husband referenced a "one-eyed, one-horned flying purple people eater." Think I'll pass on that one.)

I'm one of those folks who brings back rocks and miscellany from trips I take. This mosaic, similar to those I made after visiting Alaska and Puerto Penasco, is a way to honor yet another place that has shared its beauty with me, both in the moment and in my pockets. The treasures in this mosaic have come from Calabernardo on the Mediterranean cost of Sicily. The rest is smalti and tinted mortar. The piece is called "Grazie Mille, Sicilia"

With one mosaic on the bench and nothing else to post, here's another photo of moi at an art show this past weekend- the Turtle Creek (Dallas) Arts Festival. Thanks to all the lovely folks who stopped by. 24 (!) of you "got the plink".

This piece, that as yet is without a name, went through a lot of iterations before it felt finished. It really needs to be seen against a darker background, but this was the only place in my house I could hang it to get the square photo Instagram requires. If you are in the Durango area you can stop by and see it at the Art Fair this weekend (20th/21st).

"Falling into LIne" - 6 shades of marble, 10 of Murano glass (smalti), aluminum rods, a button, a heart-shaped rock, and a pottery oddity. As I've written before, this technique of placing the tesserae at odds with one another is time consuming. Glad to have this one off the workbench.

I'm relieved to have finally finished this piece called "Virga," It's made of sandstone and Italian smalti. I began it months ago, but family visits, paragliding trips, and life in general interrupted the process. If you are in the area, stop by this weekend and give it a gander. Terra Forma Mosaics is #3 on the Four Corners Studio Tour. ( https://fourcornersstudiotour.com/ ) Lots of great art all over the place to delight your sensibilities.
