Check out our summer institute for high school age singers!

FEATURED CAMP:
AZ Rose Opera Institute for Young Singers
(14 to 18 years, June 11th-June15th, 8:00 to 4:00, $250)
Pre-professional training program for singers who are interested in studying vocal performance at a university level or pursuing a career as a singer. Participants will receive one-on-one training in vocal technique, movement, acting, foreign language diction, music theory, and music history. All students will perform in opera scenes and will perform a solo piece in an Italian art song recital at the end of the week. During the week students will see a performance by professional opera singers and have a Q&A with current vocal performance students from the University of Arizona. This is a one of a kind program in which students learn valuable performance and audition techniques from industry professionals.

Had a great time at the first Opera Guild of Southern Arizona preview performance today! Make sure to check out the second and last preview this coming Friday at Grace St. Paul’s Church (2331 E Adams Street), @ 12:00 pm. We’ll be showcasing Scene 1, Act 1 of “Hansel and Gretel,” the U of A opera department will be there with a sneak peek of “Rape of Lucretia,” and you’ll get some inside information on AZ Opera’s upcoming production, “Hercules vs. Vampires.” And...it’s free!
