I like to begin most projects by reminding myself, “I’m just practicing.” If something wonderful comes from it, that’s a gift. But the real point is the practice itself. Art asks for consistency—for showing up again and again, even when you’re unsure where it will lead. Just make the art. Enjoy the process, trust it, and keep creating.

“Borealis Shell”

This painting began with the simple shape of a shell, but as the layers developed it started to feel more like something luminous and drifting—almost suspended between water and night sky. The soft blues and glowing edges were inspired by the quiet movement of the sea and the shifting light of the Aurora Borealis.

The scattered circles of light suggest bubbles or distant points of light, adding to the feeling of gentle motion. Borealis Shell is meant to evoke a moment of stillness and wonder—like discovering something quietly glowing beneath the surface.
