Another night off at South Texas Race Ranch, but that doesn’t mean racing has to stop.

If you’re looking to get your racing fix tonight, be sure to support local grassroots racing any way you can. Whether you’re watching a livestream from home or making the trip to the grandstands, every fan helps keep short-track racing alive.

Tonight, head over to Cotton Bowl Speedway where a full night of dirt track action is on tap. Gates open at 5:00 PM, hot laps begin at 6:30 PM, and racing starts at 7:00 PM.

🌧️ Mother Nature has taken the win over South Texas Race Ranch not only this past weekend, but the upcoming weekend as well. While the rain is much needed across South Texas, it unfortunately means racing will have to wait a little longer.

As we continue working through repairs and preparing the facility for our return, we encourage everyone to support other local tracks that are racing this weekend:

Mother Nature takes the win for June 6th at South Texas Race Ranch.

While we know this rain means racing will have to wait another week, we also know it’s much needed for our region and we’re thankful for every drop. Unfortunately, with the amount of rain received, we have several repairs and cleanup projects ahead of us once conditions allow.

We appreciate everyone’s patience, support, and understanding as we work to get things back race ready. Please stay tuned for schedule updates and future event announcements in the coming days.
South Texas Emods Series Race number 3 has been moved to October 24th.

In the meantime, continue supporting your local race tracks, your local racers, and the heart of this sport — grassroots racing.

Before this gets out of hand and goes any further:

Yes, South Texas Race Ranch is for sale and has been for sale. However, no one has come anywhere close to a purchase at this time.

Rumors are just that — rumors. Those who start them often do so to create doubt, stir negativity, and hurt something good.

Until there is something official to announce, please don’t feed the rumor mill. We are focused on racing, our drivers, our fans, and continuing to build something positive for the racing community.

Today, the racing world lost more than a champion — it lost a true icon.

Kyle Busch was the kind of driver who made people feel something every time he strapped in. Fierce, fearless, passionate, and unapologetically competitive, he left everything on the track and gave fans countless moments they will never forget. Love him or race against him, you respected what he brought to this sport — talent that can never be replaced and a fire that helped shape a generation of racing.

Kyle wasn’t just a winner. He was a personality, a competitor, a record-setter, and a name that became part of motorsports history. His impact reached far beyond the checkered flag and into the hearts of fans, teams, fellow drivers, and families who grew up watching him do what few could. He was a heavily involved father and husband.

Today, we mourn a tremendous loss in the racing community and send our deepest prayers to Samantha, Brexton, Lennix, the Busch family, Rowdy Nation, and everyone who loved him.

Thank you, Kyle, for the memories, the passion, and the mark you left on this sport.
Gone far too soon, but your legacy will race on forever. 🏁💔

We may be rained out but it doesn’t mean track business stops.
We are working schedules, visiting classes and yes working on 2027 already.

🚨 COMING IN 2027 TO SOUTH TEXAS RACE RANCH… SPORTSTERS! 🚨

We’re excited to announce EARLY that a brand-new class will be coming to South Texas Race Ranch for the 2027 season — SPORTSTERS!

This class has already found success at Boothill Speedway, where they are heading into their second year and seeing great participation and excitement. After watching the growth and success of this affordable, fun division, we believe it’s something that could be a great fit for STRR as well.

One thing we hear often in racing is that cost can keep people from getting involved. SPORTSTERS is designed with that in mind — an affordable class for new racers, budget-minded competitors, and anyone wanting to get on the track without breaking the bank.

Just like Boothill, this class will be heavily monitored in tech — and yes, there will be a LOT of tech. The goal is simple: keep the competition fair, keep costs under control, and make sure this class stays what it was intended to be… fun, competitive, and exciting for everyone.

Sometimes money gets in the way of fun in racing. In this class, our priority is to create a place where drivers can race hard, have a blast, and not hurt the pocketbook doing it.

🏁 A class for newcomers. A class for racers on a budget. A class built for excitement.
