The Rockwell Museum is a place where visitors
connect and reflect on the story of America – its
history, culture and spirit – through the eyes of
American artists. The diverse collection of original American masterpieces includes a mix of contemporary Native American art alongside traditional bronze sculptures, landscape paintings and other works that embody America and the migration west. The Roc

kwell is named for our founding collectors, Bob and Hertha Rockwell, local business owners who amassed an incredible collection of American art and artifacts. Visit RockwellMuseum.org for Art Lab hours.

In honor of our sister institution Corning Museum of Glass hosting the Glass Art Society conference this week, we’re pleased to share these insights into the creation of “True Gravity,” – a site-specific neon sculpture at The Rockwell Museum. Neon artists Meryl Pataky and Kelsey Issel bend glass to its limits in this year’s edition of Antigravity. Working within tensions of hard and soft, control and happenstance, and isolation and interdependence, Pataky and Issel’s deeply collaborative work invites the viewer to rethink the potential of glass and light.

See this installation at The Rockwell Museum in Corning, NY now through March 2027.

GAS conference participants are welcome at The Rockwell for FREE all week – simply show your GlassPass or conference badge at The Rockwell admission desk.

ANNOUNCEMENT 📣 Big things are coming to The Rockwell Museum! As we celebrate 50 years, we are thrilled to launch a series of exciting projects that will transform key public spaces throughout 2026 and 2027.

One of the biggest updates? The beloved KIDS ROCKWELL Art Lab is moving into the Museum’s main building with an expanded, reimagined space designed by nationally recognized architecture firm GBBN. The new Art Lab will include hands-on creative space, a performance stage, a sensory-friendly room, a family restroom, and flexible furnishings for programs and community events. We’re deeply grateful to the family of Nelson Benjamin Quanbeck for their generous support of this project.

To make room for the expanded Art Lab, The Rockwell Museum Store will move to a beautifully renovated storefront in Centerway Square on Market Street, designed by AJH Design. The new location will bring the Store closer to the heart of downtown Corning while continuing to offer artful gifts, books, jewelry, and Museum-inspired products.

🌿 Art has the power to heal, connect, and comfort. 🌿

We’re honored to offer the Art & Healing Guide — a resource created in collaboration with local care organizations to help visitors engage with art in deeply personal and reflective ways. This guide explores themes of mental health, memory, loss, and resilience, and is available at The Rockwell Museum.

This guide is presented with heartfelt thanks to Art Bridges for making this project possible.

We’re also deeply grateful to our community partners — the Alzheimer’s Association, Bampa’s House Corning Comfort Care, Inc., CareFirstNY, and Memory Maker Consulting — for sharing their insights and voices throughout the development of this guide.
