We are thrilled to announce that Mrs. Laura Lee Barrett has been named principal of Cordova High School. Her appointment marks a well-deserved recognition of her exceptional leadership, dedication, and deep commitment to our school community.
Mrs. Barrett’s journey at Cordova spans more than a decade. She began her career here in 2011, teaching English for five years before transitioning to Sumiton Elementary School where she served as school counselor for six years. Four years ago, she returned to Cordova as counselor/assistant principal, where she has continued to demonstrate the vision and excellence that define her work as an educator.
With 15 years of service to Walker County schools, Mrs. Barrett brings a wealth of experience, perspective, and heart to this role. Her relationships with students, staff, and families run deep, and her leadership has already made a meaningful impact on our school.
