There are so many ways Dolly’s influence has found its way into our little corner of the performing arts.

From watching our students bring “9 to 5” to life recently, to seeing young Empire performers take the stage professionally at Dollywood, Dolly’s extraordinary world has touched our Empire family in ways we’re holding especially close today.

Her music, her humor, her generosity, and that unmistakable Dolly spirit have inspired generations of performers — including ours.

What a legacy to leave: songs that will keep being sung, stories that will keep being told, and generations of young performers encouraged to dream a little bigger. 🤍

🎭 Advanced Musical Theatre Acting Track — Thursdays
Being part of the Performance Team means more opportunities to perform, train, travel, attend master classes, participate in special shows, and gain real-world performing experience!
🌟 THIS YEAR’S BIG OPPORTUNITY: NASHVILLE! 🌟
In March, we’ll have a full week of industry training right here at the studio! Students will participate in master classes and auditions with professional industry professionals who will work with our students, provide feedback, and help determine which students will be selected to join us for our Nashville trip in May! 🎤💃🎭
Our May Nashville trip will be an exciting opportunity for selected dancers and singers to continue their training, perform, make connections, and explore potential opportunities in the industry.
🎶 WHAT TO PREPARE FOR AUDITIONS:
💃 Dancers: Prepare a 30-second dance cut.
🎤 Singers/Actors: Prepare a 30-second song cut.
PLEASE COME PREPARED! Make sure you know exactly which song and which section of the song you will be singing or dancing to.
This is your opportunity to show us what you can do, grow as a performer, and become part of something bigger at Empire! ❤️

Yesterday, some of our Empire actors traded the stage for the screen! 🎬✨

Our students had the incredible opportunity to spend the day at Drama Inc. for an on-camera acting class with Catherine Dyer, whose credits include Stranger Things, The Morning Show, and The Blind Side.

From learning how acting changes when the audience is a camera just a few feet away, to working through scenes and getting real-time direction and feedback, our actors were challenged to think about their craft in an entirely new way—and they were AMAZING.

We are so grateful for opportunities like this that let our students take what they’re learning in the theatre and explore where else those skills can take them. A huge thank you to Catherine and Drama Inc. for such a welcoming, educational, and inspiring experience.
