Born Havana, Cuba in 1960, Humberto came to the United
States in 1971 from the small town of Guanajay, Pinar Del Rio. A place with
amazing architecture and surrounding farm land, as a small child
he painted with the red clay soil and charcoal, opening a new world of shades
and blending techniques that he would evolve into his singular style. His work has been acquired by international corporati

ons, restaurants, cruise lines, and private collectors. Named 2006 trendsetter by Art Business News Magazine, "Humberto's music-inspired and romantic Cuban themes captures the souls of many, along with his vibrant Comparsas, his hidden faces behind a flamboyant Cuban hat and his texture have stamped his unique style with movement in every piece." He continues to paint full time in his gallery located in the city of Coral Gables, Florida (The City Beautiful), where he resides. Art /News: Artist Humberto Benitez and his wife Lissette from Coral Gables are leveraging the charm of a quaint town conveniently located a mere two-hour drive from Miami for his second art studio and vintage-era jewelry store. The town of Avon Park, with its rich historical heritage, has emerged as a hotspot for travelers along the US-27 corridor in central Florida. We noticed that many communities find themselves trapped in a doom loop of dwindling, deteriorating infrastructure and dilapidated buildings, with few prospects for investment or growth. However, all is not lost; cultivating vibrant Main Street districts is proving to be a catalytic path to rural revitalization, and that is our goal for this great town of Avon Park. The couple purchased and restored a building located at 16 East Main Street ………
