Some closeups of the demo pieces...the little meditating head is a rattle and the bowl is all textured pieces smooshed together to create this beautiful bowl. I've really enjoyed teaching handbuilding over the past few months 🥰

First kiln firing of 2026 😁 This was a bisque firing of half dome molds for one of the upcoming Beginning Pottery classes that I'm teaching at the Coquille Valley Art Association. The others are all class demonstration pieces and I have more in my damp room drying slowly. I'm going to have so much glazing to do during the class break 😳

Thank you so much to everyone who came to the art center’s holiday sale today. You all made my day…buyers, browsers and my fellow makers. So much holiday spirit shared ❤️

I'll be selling pottery this Saturday at the Coquille Valley Art Center from 10:00 to 4:00. I have new bowls, mugs and my new Christmas tree luminaries (or incense burners) and other assorted pots including a couple of my large Gnomes.

Finally...it's been quite a while since my last glaze firing. Now I've gotta do a bit of tweaking for the next load so it doesn't get as hot as this one did 🤞

Christmas tress before and after glaze firing...I'm really happy with these. They took me quite a while to make and I'll be showing them at the Coquille Valley Art Center's artists holiday sale on the 13th 🙂

Before and after firing. My kiln overfired a bit, but I ended up with some really beautiful glaze results and only one little drip that stuck to the "cookies" I used to protect my shelves. So happy everything made it...now I've gotta get the second load done.

Everything made it through the bisque firing 😀 Gotta get some glazing done next.

Twas a wonderful afternoon in the studio throwing soup size bowls and loading the kiln. Saved a big spot in the kiln for a large bowl that's almost dry...maybe I'll be doing a bisque firing Monday 🤞

Been working on this two part birdbath for a while now and it's finally drying. The stand is drying upside down and the bath portion has support wedges under it to prevent slumping 🤞

The big handbuilt bowl is off the mold and seems much more stable, but I'm not touching it until it firms up a bit more. I'll probably do more work to the interior and finish the rim on Wednesday or Thursday.

Back in business. This year it seems like every time I try to fire a kiln I have to do repairs first...but she's firing great again (oops, did I just jinx myself) 🤭
