I have been out of the rock shop for a bit, because life you know!? Yesterday I cut this beautiful Thunderegg open. It is from a private collection of old stock dug in the 50’s. I was lucky enough to be able to buy a few from the owner!

Finally made it out for our first rockhounding adventure in Eastern Oregon! 🪨😁

We hit three different spots and came home with petrified wood, agates, and a ton of obsidian. After doing so much of our rockhounding on the Oregon coast, it felt amazing to get out into a completely different landscape and search for our own material.

There’s just something about finding it yourself that makes every piece a little more special.

Now I’m already wondering where we should go next! What’s your favorite rockhounding spot in Oregon? And what other Oregon rocks should be on my must-find list?
