Introducing: Pay-to-Fire at the Coos Art Museum! Bisque firings will be at the end of each month starting February 28th. Glaze firings will occur on the 15th of each month. Bring your wares in during museum hours Wednesday-Sunday, 11am to 5pm. All fees will go towards opening a community ceramics studio at the Coos Art Museum!

Well, hello! Want to let you all know that registration is open for fall classes. I have been contacted and agreed to face mask to face mask classes for fall term. We still need to get safely through the summer so, get vaccinated and get ready for ceramics class in September.

Hi, just checking in. As far as I know SOCC will not be holding Ceramics classes Spring Term this year. Hopefully by fall enough people will be vaccinated so they can at least let us hold class with limited enrollment. If enrollment numbers need to be low we could possibly hold classes for shorter periods of time and scheduled two sets of people during one regular class time🤷‍♀️ Truly I’m just thinking out loud. Hopefully this year brings us back to normalcy in the fall.
Hope your all working on some projects at home and connecting with other potters. Almost Spring so get your gardens prepped and have a lovely Spring!

I know a lot of you are hoping we will be able to have some ceramics on some level fall term. Well, what I have from the powers that be is SOCC will be allowing only students enrolled in the science programs on campus for labs. Otherwise campus will remain closed Fall Term. I will certainly post any updates here. Closer to fall term it may look different, but for now 🦠is on the rise so stay safe and take care y’all!

I’m sorry but I don’t have any news yet about fall ceramics classes. I will see if I can find out any info this week. I’m sure all the teachers at SOCC are so anxious to be done with this school year. Hopefully summer brings changes to the 🦠 and we can begin again fall term. I’ll keep you up to date.

Hi Everyone! Hope this finds you all healthy and distancing and cozy at home! We are all set to begin ceramic classes in the Fall! Hopefully by then we can get back in the grove and go again. Until then be cautious and just stay home and wash your hands a lot! If you need anything from me contact me here or on the SOCC email ([email protected]). See you all soon.
By the way! Coos Head Coop has curb side pick up for you shopping needs and 7Devils has three takeout dinners a week to offer on their web site. You can still shop local and small businesses!

Hello clay people of Coos County! Spring term day classes have been canceled. Ceramics can’t be taught on line especially if your a beginner. So much of it relies on the equipment. The night section is on hold till May. You should be receiving a refund in the next week or so I’m told. Georgies is open in Eugene and Portland with curb side service and on line, if you need some clay or supplies so you can continue working at home. Sorry I will miss you all! Take special care until we meet again!
