End of Semester Showcase: BUILDING BRICK Challenges and Creations

Celebrate a semester of creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning in our Building Brick class! Throughout the course, students explored the basics of engineering, design, and art by taking on fun, interactive challenges that encouraged them to think critically and build with purpose.
From designing race cars for our Speed & Distance Challenge, where students tested how fast and far their creations could go, to tackling the Building Brick Bridge Challenge, where they experimented with different building styles to discover which structures were the strongest, each activity pushed students to try new ideas and improve their designs.
Students also explored the creative side of Building Bricks by making mini figure necklaces, designing wearable art using their favorite characters, and creating colorful pixel art with Building Brick Dots, learning how small pieces can come together to form detailed images and patterns.
At our upcoming Art show on May 1st, 6:30pm, as a grand finale, students collaborated to build an entire Building Brick City, bringing their imaginations to life through a variety of themed scenes. From exciting pig races and lively outdoor concerts, to daring ocean rescue and a fully designed amusement park, each section of the city showcased their creativity, storytelling, and teamwork.
Along the way, students learned about balance, stability, structure, and simple physics concepts while also expressing their creativity through design and art. They practiced problem-solving, collaboration, and perseverance often redesigning and improving their builds after testing them.
Skills Developed through this class:
• Basic engineering and design thinking
• Creativity and artistic expression
• Teamwork and collaboration
• Testing, revising, and improving ideas
• Confidence in sharing and presenting work
This class proves that learning can be both educational and incredibly fun—one building brick at a time!
