Now showing!

QUARANTEENS is a show conceived and directed by 11th grader Shayah Griggs and is the product of a year of writing, creating, editing, and emoting.

Through songs and monologues, written by the students of Theatre Salem, QUARANTEENS allows us a glimpse into the minds of a few high school students in the midst of a global pandemic. The end result is a raw, honest, moving, and funny portrayal of teenage life during the age of COVID-19.

Presented by the Advanced & Musical Theatre students of Salem High School.

Theatre Salem lost a student that meant more to me than she will ever know. She was like a daughter to me all four years at Salem and beyond. My students have all been texting me and so many have told me that she was their first friend in the theater department. She was an inspiration and a leader. She was not only a friend to people in the department but she loved my girls like they were her own sisters. She would call you out if you were not doing what you were supposed to. She would celebrate with you and cry with you. She remembered my birthdays and always had something in mind to brighten the day of the people that needed it. She was such a bright light and to think that she didn't know how many people truly loved her makes me so sad. The hole in my heart and the hole in our Theatre Salem family can never be filled. You will forever be missed by me and your whole theatre family. I love you Kris Bolton.

Man I miss these kids! I have been blessed with some of the most hard-working and self-motivated students anyone could ever have. They make magic out of nothing. Just know I'm thinking about you all past and present and hope you are healthy and safe.
