A quirky name and a commitment to education are at the core of Toad Suck Daze. Founded in 1982, the award-winning festival takes place the first weekend of May and provides funding for education initiatives in Faulkner County. Festivalgoers from across the region – approximately 100,000 during the three-day event – gather in the streets of downtown Conway for food-on-a-stick, local and national en

tertainment, arts and crafts, activities for kids, and, of course, the World-Famous Championship Toad Races. Several festival-sanctioned events sponsored by local non-profit organizations take place throughout the weekend as well, including a 5K/10K race and the Tour de Toad bicycle race. To date, Toad Suck Daze has contributed more than $1.7 million to scholarships, scholarship endowments, and pre-K funding.

In 2026, Toad Suck Daze has helped fund 10 programs and initiatives totaling $138,500 across Faulkner County, supporting education, the arts, community development and more.

As Dolly once said, "If I'm remembered 100 years from now, I hope it will be not for looks but for books."

Toad Suck Daze has been proud to help fund the Arkansas Imagination Library, a local chapter of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, for several years now, helping more than 4,000 kids right here in Faulkner County receive a free book in the mail every single month.

Dolly started the library in honor of her father, who never learned to read. She understood that education and reading were the key to a better life, stating: "If you can read, even if you can't afford education, you can go on and learn about anything you want to know. There's a book on everything."

We're proud to support the Arkansas Imagination Library and the work it does and will continue to do in Conway, Faulkner County, and across the entire state.

While Dolly may be gone, her books and her legacy will keep landing in mailboxes across Faulkner County for years to come.

The best part of the festival that many people don't get to see. The summer lunch program at the Faulkner County Library has started! Volunteers from First United Methodist Church, Conway, Arkansas prepare more than 100 lunches Tuesday-Thursday every week during the summer.

More than 4,000 people will get a free lunch, craft or lesson, and movie this summer thanks to our amazing program and festival sponsors. Thank you to Goode's Cash Saver and Farris Agency Inc. for contributing to this program.

The festival may have been one month ago, but the community benefits are in full swing. This week more than 100 area students are attending an ACT preparation course coordinated by UCA Outreach & Community Engagement and Conway Public Schools.

These students will receive instruction and test-taking strategies from University of Central Arkansas faculty and alumni. Higher scores means more scholarship dollars for families. And it’s all possible because of our festival and sponsors. Kudos to these students for sacrificing a little bit of their summer for academic excellence!

Kids had a blast in the Turbare Manufacturing,LLC and Caldwell Toyota Toadal Kid Zone during Toad Suck Daze weekend!

The area was filled with fun all weekend long, featuring a mini carnival, activities, performances on the First Service Bank and Klaasmeyer Construction Stage, and more. 🎡🍧☀️

Westrock Coffee Tinkerfest, in partnership with the Museum of Discovery, was such a fun part of the weekend! 🛠️
