Still another year goes by with no luck.
Hello everyone I’m still looking for my half brother. His birth name was Gerald Wayne Schovan (Shovan). He was born 12/30/65 in Michigan. Possibly the Grand Rapids/Pontiac/Wyoming MI Area. His birth mother was Linda Marie Nielsen (Neilson) and father was Jerald Wayne Schovan Sr. Both birth parents are deceased now. He was adopted in 1967 after his mothers parental rights were Teminated and my father was not married to her to be awarded custody. His mother was a minor so the adoption was belived to have been granted by his materal grand father. Grandfathers name was Marvin Neilson (Nielson) of Waterford MI. His mother left him with my parents saying she didn't want him. They had him for approximately 6 months when his mother's rights were terminated, at which time the court took him from my parents and placed him in a foster home in Cloverdale. Believed to be adopted out of Pontiac Mi. My parents were later arrested for taking the child from the hospital. (I've read all the news articles). I believe he knows he was adopted, he was aware of his mother's side of the family. It was quite troubling, and it's been said he wanted No contact with them. She was married a few times after and had 3 other children. They saw pictures of Gerald when he was elementary aged in a box in their mom's closet. So she had some kind of contact. All of which grew up in foster care. Id love for him to know his dad and my mother loved him and wanted him and fought and were even arrested for trying to keep him. He has a wonderful loving family who would very much like to meet him I've attached photos from June-Christmas of 1966. He does have a half brother (my brother) named Jerald Wayne Schovan Jr as to not to be confused.
