May Mask Making Maynia is in full swing here in the Continental Art Studios. The littles are making their favorite super hero masks while the 4-6 graders are making plaster casting masks using the plastic dummy molds. A bit of a sloppy process but I think they are enjoying it.

Pretty safe to say these kids’ super power is creativity! Keep up the great work 🏴‍☠️🎭🏴‍☠️

Gotta brag on these awesome Art students a bit today.🏴‍☠️🎨🏴‍☠️ They got a much needed delay & some extra sleep & they sure need it after this week. They aren’t just super talented artists & great young people but they never hesitate to serve and help their district & community!

HS Intro to Art Students are making huge strides on some of the “Vegas Night” Prom 2026 decorations. We were tasked with making a fist roulette wheel & poker chip & they look awesome as you can see.

Also the Advanced Students are showing their artistic skill & patriotism as they designed & are painting their patriotic themed Paint the Plow project for Putnam Co. Great work ladies 🇺🇸

Just really lucky to have such awesome kids! & I’d be remisced if I didn’t congratulate the March students of the month. Awesome job Aubrey & Jaxson! Stop in & check out their pieces on display in the admin building this month!

Such an awesome afternoon yesterday working with the elementary lil artists in the studio. They learned about Dutch “De Still” Painter Piet Mondrian & his geometric line paintings popularized in the early 1900s. Students were given their choice of cardboard size, construction paper colors & shapes to make from it & the final touch of colored masking tape… which they love to create with. Just a great project with a bunch of awesome lil artists! If you can’t tell we have a lot of fun together in the studio… they are awesome! 🏴‍☠️🎨🏴‍☠️

Also wanted to celebrate our Pirate Arrrrrtists of the month for March for their great work & creativity!
Congrats to 7th grader Aubrey Noffsinger & Kindergartener Jaxson Stallkamp for their awesome recent work! Outstanding Job!!!

Very very happy & proud to announce that these 4 young ladies, Mallorie Barnhart, Ella Siefer, Brooklynn Schnipke, and Emerson Wollam-- have had their artwork accepted into the 2026 Kewpee Invitational!

This is a remarkable achievement. Out of nearly 400 entries, only 193 were selected for this juried exhibition. Having four students represented speaks volumes about their dedication and creative vision. We are incredibly proud of these young artists.

The show runs from Friday, March 20 through April 11. We invite the community to visit the gallery at 65 Town Square, Lima, OH, to view these outstanding pieces!

Please help me in wishing these young ladies good luck as they submit some pretty awesome artwork to the 38th Annual Kewpee High School Art Juried Exhibition at Artspace Lima. Judging will take place this weekend & the artists chosen will be notified early next week.

Best of luck ladies & very proud of your high quality work & also proud of your willingness to display your talents for others to admire!

Keep up the great work & continue to shine His light!

Such a great day for Continental Fine Art Students today. Very proud of each of them that had Art displayed. I was able to get pics of most of the students that attended the festival today and pics of each of the Merit Award Winners & we even had a Best of Show Winner Awarded. Ms Emmie Wollom was named Best of Show for her “Portrait of a Lady” acrylic on canvas painting.

Great work Pirates 🏴‍☠️🎨🏴‍☠️! Very proud of each of you!

Outstanding day of Art in the Continental Art Studios! I have no words but wow for the last few pieces the advanced students are creating in prep for the County Show.

& the elementary student’s Artist they are studying may have a “silly” name but their Wasilly Kandinsky inspired work is no joke! They are producing some really wowing work as well!

Students have really been cranking out some fabulous Art of late here in the Continental Pirates Arrrrrt Studios.

With celebrating Black History month in February we have been learning about African American Painters Jacob Lawrences Migration Series & the graffiti inspired neo-abstract expressionist work of Jean-Micheal Basquiat. Students created group transcription of the Great Migration 1 and now currently are working on their own neo-abstraction graffiti pieces in a related Basquiat manner. Pretty darn awesome work & I hope you enjoy it!

The only thing better than solid HS & JH Art is having fun creating with the Elementary Mini Artists. They are beyond creative & have been creating some outstanding sharpie patina’d aluminum embossments inspired by the work of German Expressionist Hanz Marc.

Quite a few of these pieces will be able to be viewed at our upcoming Putnam Co Art show. This year it is being hosted at Columbus Grove & will take place Sunday March 8th from 1-4. Please keep an eye out for parentsquare notifications going out soon for students work that will be submitted on display. & Please mark your calendars & come celebrate some tremendous Art by our awesome students! 🎨🏴‍☠️🎨
