Stage Right of Texas announces auditions for the 2022 /2023 Winter Musical:

Monty Python's Spamalot

Directed by Tina Cafeo

Synopsis:
Spamalot tells the legendary tale of King Arthur’s quest to find the Holy Grail. Inspired by the classic comedy film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the musical also diverts a bit from more traditional versions of the legend. Instead, Spamalot features shenanigans including a line of beautiful dancing girls, flatulent Frenchmen, and killer rabbits. Outside, there is plague with a 50% chance of pestilence and famine. Throughout the show, Arthur, traveling with his servant Patsy, recruits several knights to accompany him on his quest, including Sir Bedevere, Sir Robin, Sir Lancelot, and Sir Galahad. Besides the rabbits and farting Frenchman, they meet such characters as the Lady of the Lake, Prince Herbert, Tim the Enchanter, Not Dead Fred, the Black Knight, and the Knights who say Ni.

Donna Wheaton (Helen Hubbard) a newcomer to the Crighton Theater, is thrilled to be making her debut in Murder On The Orient Express. Although she has been in the industry for more years than she would like to count, being in this production has turned out to be one of the highlights of her career. Donna has been an actor, singer, writer, Director and Queen Mother at Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center in Katy, Texas for the past 17 years. She was also part of their Books Alive outreach program who wrote musical comedies for children and performed them all over Texas.
Donna has enjoyed exploring the part of Mrs. Hubbard as she too was a worldwide traveler, so she fell into the role quite naturally. All she lacked were the five ex-husbands ……so far!

Amy Sowers (Hortense MacQueen) has long been an avid fan of Agatha Christie so she is thrilled to assist in bringing this story to life. Amy most recently portrayed Mariette in Neil Simon’s The Dinner Party. Some of Amy’s favorite roles include Clara in Who Dunnit?, Claire in Rumors, Diana in Lend Me a Tenor, Mary in How the Other Half Loves, Auntie Em in The Wizard of Oz, Marmee in Little Women and Grace in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, the Musical, Sheree in Dixie Swim Club, and Gaynelle in Red Velvet Cake War. Amy is the director of Bravo Company, the educational wing of Stage Right and serves on the Stage Right board of directors.

Robert Faber (Constantine Bouc)
Robert is pleased to be back on the boards at the Crighton having played Sam Weinberg in “A Few Good Men”, Eugene Morris Jerome in “Brighton Beach Memoirs” and Beverly Carlton in “the Man Who Came to Dinner” Robert was last seen as Reverend David Lee in “The Foreigner” at the Owen Theatre. Prior to that he was Felix Unger in “The Odd Couple” and Carmine DeLuca in “Farce of Nature.” Both at the Crighton. Other notable roles include Charlie in “The Foreigner”, and Freddie in “Noises Off” at the Owen Theatre, Seymour in “Little Shop of Horrors”, Sherlock Holmes in “The Hound of the Baskervilles” at Backstage Ensemble, and Leonard Joli Joli in “Pajama Tops” at Playhouse 1960. Robert would like to thank his family for giving him the time to be able to entertain you. He would also like to thank the talented cast, crew and director. All of your hard work and dedication will most certainly bring smiles to this auspicious vintage venue tonight.

Stage Right of Texas announces auditions for the 2022 /2023 Season Fall Musical:
Rent

Directed by Manny Cafeo

Synopsis:
Based on Puccini’s beloved opera La Bohème, Rent follows the ups and downs of a year in the life of a group of impoverished, artistic friends living in Manhattan’s East Village. Mark, an aspiring filmmaker, struggles to find his place in the world; his roommate Roger, an HIV-positive musician, wonders how he will leave his mark before he dies. Mimi and Angel look for true love as they face the harsh reality of life as HIV-positive young people, while the businesslike Joanne seeks fidelity from her wild-child performance artist girlfriend Maureen. The group’s dreams, losses, and love stories weave through the musical’s narration to paint a stunningly raw and emotional portrait of the gritty bohemian world of New York City in the late 1980s, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.
