Registration is still open to be a part of the 6th grade band in fall of 2025! Band is such an amazing opportunity for students to learn a skill that not many people can. We play a ton of fun songs and students get to be with friends and make new ones along the way! If you know that your child would like to be a part of band this next school year, please do not hesitate to sign up!

Some spots are limited so the faster you sign up, the better chances your child has to secure a spot with the instrument they want to play.

Hello EBMS Band!

Mr. Bolick here:

I just want to come on here and promote the Burke County Youth Band Camp.

This is a great camp and a great opportunity for students to come and learn a lot and get better as musicians.

This is open to rising 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th graders. This will be July 29- August 2 at Patton HS.

I apologize for not posting this on the page sooner. The registration deadline has passed but walk-ins are welcome.

So please share this with any parent who has a child in the EBMS band.

Please note that the date on the flyer was last year's date (July 29- August 2) are the actual dates for camp this year.

Hello All!

I hope everyone is having a great and restful summer.

While summer is still going and I'm sure we're all grateful for that I just wanted to come on here and remind everyone about signing up for 6th grade band!

I know the majority of people who follow this account already have children in the band but I want to try to reach out to all the parents of rising 6th graders.

If you have not signed your child up for band and they want to join, then please use the link below to sign up.

I highly encourage signing up now rather than later. Even if your child doesn't know what they want to play. Signing them up now betters their chances of getting the instrument they want. Signing up too late will restrict them based on what instrument they choose as I don't want to have too many of one instrument.

If you know anyone whose child is attending EBMS, then please notify them of this account and share it with them. Any support is greatly appreciated to help get the 6th grade band off to a great start with great numbers for the band.

Hello!

We are looking for any rising 6th graders who are interested in joining band next school year! We are looking for anyone who would love to learn how to play an instrument!

Previous musical experience is not required but is always welcomed! We will take you even if you've never played an instrument before.

Hello EBMS Band!

I can't believe I forgot to post this on the band page but on March 20, the band went to MPA where they got judged on 3 pieces they've been practicing for the past 2 months.

I am very glad to say that the 7th & 8th grade band got an excellent rating. I could not be more proud of the hard work and dedication these students have to perfect their craft in musicianship.

This is just the beginning of their lives as musicians. They are truly a great group of students.

This is a very big accomplishment for her as she went up against nearly 85 other students.

Happy Monday EBMS Band!

Mr. Bolick here with some information:

1. Our fruit sale is still going on. Hopefully, this will answer all the questions about the sale and the deadline for orders.

For orders being delivered by a semi-truck to a central location, and then unloaded and distributed by your group:

* For delivery before Thanksgiving (November 13-18), the final day to place your order is Friday, October 27, 2023.

* For delivery after Thanksgiving (December 1- 19), the final day to place your order is Friday, November 10, 2023.

For the Ship-to-Home orders being delivered by FedEx, online ordering will remain open until midnight on Sunday December, 10th, 2023.

Hopefully this information helps!

2. The concert date has been set! The winter concert will be December 19th at 7:00pm in the theater of the MS. Students need to be at the school dressed, with their instruments and music ready to go no later than 6:30pm. Every minute they are late, 1 point will be deducted from their performance grade.
Dress code for the concert will be what they wore the previous years. All black. Gentlemen will have to wear a black buttoned down long-sleeve shirt, black dress pants, black dress shoes, and black socks.
Ladies can opt to wear what the guys wear or wear a black dress with black dress shoes of their choice.
*NOTE: If a student comes to the concert with the wrong attire they may not be allwed to play in the concert. So please make sure the attire is correct. If there are any questions about if the attire is appropriate, contact me ASAP.

3. There will be an eighth grade night at EBHS on Friday October 20th (this Friday). If any student is interested in attending (highly encourage everyone to attend) then please let me know so that I can put your name down on the list. I will send out a much more detailed message in email but the most important thing is to make sure the student can get to the HS because there will not be a bus to take them. If you have any questions then please reach out!

4th: This week is the last of the 1st nine weeks. Students, make sure you have turned in EVERYTHING or else your grade will suffer. If you have a question on which assignments you're missing, please email me.

That was a lot of information but I hope that this helps you in planning for the weeks to come. This has been a great 1st nine weeks and I'm sure it will only get better from here.

I'm sorry I've been a little inactive when it comes to communication. I've been extremely busy the past few weeks but don't fear. The communication will still continue. Everyone deserves to know what is happening in the program.

Hello EBMS Band!

Mr. Bolick here,

I hope all of you had a great Labor Day weekend.

I want to start out by saying how great and productive last week was. I couldn't be happier about how last week went! It was great to see all the students back in school making music!

Let's go over some things for this week:

1. Any student who has yet to pay their band fee of $20 should do so as quickly as possible. The band fees go a long way in helping maintain the program. It helps repair any instrument that gets damaged, and it helps to buy any supplies that are needed for the band room. If you have any questions about the fee, please contact Mr. Bolick.

2. Our fundraiser is coming up. It will start on September eleventh. Students will be given more information this week on what the fundraiser will entail.

3. All students should bring their instruments every day of class as we are going to be learning new music. I have talked with all the 6th graders about getting an instrument. There are only a select few who have told me they need an instrument from the school. I assume that everyone else has decided to rent an instrument. Make sure that any Clarinet or Saxophone player has reeds at their disposal. This helps them rehearse in school and practice at home. The reeds in the band room are LIMITED quantity. So please make sure you have reeds.

4. I should have the concert dates and combined rehearsal dates (only for 6th and 7th grade) this week. Once I have that information, I will send it out to everyone.

I can't wait for another great week of making music.

Hello EBMS Band!

My name is Mr. Bolick! I am the new band teacher at EBMS. It's an absolute honor and privilege to be a part of this program and to get to instruct current and future musicians.

Let's talk about some important information:

1. Concert dates are TBD. Myself and Mr. Ramsey (chorus teacher) didn't like where the dates were set previously, so we wanted to change them to better help the ensembles. I will post the dates for the concert as soon as I have them.

2. There will be a band fee of $20. The reason there's a fee is because it helps keep the program afloat. Running a band program is not cheap, so the $20 does help immensely. This will have to be paid ASAP.

3. We will have a fundraiser beginning on September 11. More details to come.

My goal for this year is to have transparent communication with the students and more importantly the parents. Parents play an integral role in their child's education and I want them to be a part of it every step of the way. I will make sure to put out weekly or biweekly information about what is happening in the program. Rest assured that you will NOT be left in the dark.

I can't wait to meet all students tomorrow as we embark on either a new journey or the same journey through the world of music.
