It breaks my heart to say Dan, my father and the talented luthier behind NoName Guitars, has passed away. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. NoName Guitars is temporarily closed, and I am in the process of deciding whether to continue the business. For urgent issues, please contact me directly or at www.nonameguitars.com. Thank You, Freya Kugler

Recently, we were fortunate enough to meet the folks over at Cotten Music in Nashville. They are some of the loveliest people in the business, and their shop is unparalleled for acoustic guitars. They have two NoName Guitars for sale; a Wenge 00, and a Cocobolo OM Jumbo. If you’re in the Nashville area, Cotten Music is now your top destination. Say hello to Kim for me. For more information visit www.cottenmusic.com or check out their page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cotten-Music-Center/199944066684778.

We recently met Dan Kugler, the "name" behind NoName Guitars, courtesy of our good friend and customer Craig B. Craig's a big fan of Dan's instruments (he owns several), and he suggested we get together to see if we could do some business. Well, we thought Mr. Kugler might send us a guitar to see, but no, he and his lovely daughter drove all the way from Colorado to visit us! Naturally, they brought some instruments for us to see and play, and a couple of them have stayed behind in Tennessee. This particular guitar features a 12-fret body made of solid Wenge back and sides, with a "Lucky 12" Sinker Spruce solid top; the binding is Satinwood and Wenge, and the rosette is of the same woods. It's got a slotted peghead with no peghead inlay and Schaller tuners. The nut width is 1-3/4". The voice in this guitar is rich and warm, but with great clarity. It plays wonderfully and just makes you want to stay with it for a while. It's a lovely instrument we're pleased to have in the shop.

If you're a dreadnaught player thinking about a new guitar, you owe it to yourself to check this one out. It has that wonderful round, woody sound of mahogany, and distictive, even projection and punch of a NoName. This guitar is only a week old, but it sounds like it could be twenty years old.

Finally getting around to posting the finished pictures of the New Years guitar. Enjoy!

This is the the newest 2013 NoName model, and I’m calling it the NoName Hitch Hiker. It is patterned after a 1915 Washburn parlor guitar given to me a few years ago by a good friend. The Hitch Hicker has a 21 3/4″ scale and an overall length of 33″. The acoustic qualities of this guitar include typical NoName projection and evenness. It has such a complete sound and dynamic range for such a small body, lending itself to be a perfect travel guitar. The mold for the Hitch Hiker is number twelve for NoName Guitars. I’ve built a total of fourteen distinct models now, and I can custom-build any guitar to meet your needs and spark your inspiration.

It has been too cold to go outside and take the pictures that I want of this guitar, but I wanted everyone to see how amazing it is. I have not found the bottom of its bottom end yet. More pictures to come.
