Please join us in congratulating the Central Cabarrus Viking Band Program for being recognized by the North Carolina Bandmasters Association as a Program of Distinction!

This honor is earned by programs that lead the charge for music education within their programs. Countless hours dedicated to concert band, marching band, jazz band, chamber music, results at MPA, results of students who represent our program in honor bands and winterguard/winter percussion, community service, etc. This is not an accident, it's not easy, and it's not something to turn a blind eye to. Our band program is on the rise and the recognition means the world to our students.

Now, back to dots, sheet music, and welcoming our students at Open House tomorrow...

Hello alumni!

Your Marching Vikings have been diligently preparing for the conclusion of band camp tomorrow. We would love to welcome you back to campus to watch our open rehearsal tomorrow from 4:45pm-7:30pm. We have a long way to go to continue learning more of the show, refining the product, and getting the bells and whistles out (props, sound equipment, stages, etc.) but that said, we are thrilled by the progress of our students.

We hope to see you there! Please bring lawn chairs, water/snacks, and memories from the past to share with the 2026 Marching Vikings.

2026 Band Camp
July 20 - July 24
Scenes from Week One:

Your Marching Vikings are getting stronger in performance, individual accountability, and collective ownership of the product... But it would also be accurate to say they've had a great time doing it, too! We are proud of our students first full week together. Only two more weeks until school is back in session, but learning and community is alive and well at Central Cabarrus High School!

Volunteers and alumni, this camp's success is in great part to your support! Whether it be a donation or time volunteered, we are grateful for your investment back into your community. The Marching Vikings are off to a phenomenal start this season, thanks to you. πŸ’š

Good morning band fam,

Please consider assisting us by volunteering your time or donating the items of food below. Every little bit helps nourish a Marching Viking in the most critical time of the year!

Please consider lending a helpful hand. Any donation puts food in the belly of a child hard at work to become a Marching Viking. Even a share of this post can help!

07/11/2026

Alright band fam, we need your help! Have you ever heard the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child?"

Well, we are looking to support feeding our village of young men and women that make up the Marching Vikings. We need our village's help in supporting the nutritional needs of our membership. In an effort to ensure our students are well nourished and responsibly fed, we have planned to supply a healthy and plentiful snack during morning practice, and a full sponsored dinner before evening practice. This tradition keeps up with the days of old, and we will keep this in full practice...

But to do it, every generous donation of time or money would go a long way in supportint this vision. As a thank you, we will honor each donation in the fall concert program, which is tentatively scheduled for October 14 at 6:30pm. Our students and booster organization would be happy to supply band swag including but not limited to: Tumblers, hats, stickers, magnets, etc.

If you're so inclined, please view the links for our Sign Up Genius links in the comments below. We greatly appreciate your help in this matter - a little help goes a long way for our students can "open new doors" this season!

Best wishes,

Nick Carl

To all Viking Band alumni and all those of our community,

As you are aware, the past 12 months for the Central Cabarrus Viking Band Program has been a major turnaround. A year in review: All County/District/State representation, Blumey award representation, a fully seated Jazz band (of ~70% of the program, even), a plaque from MPA to commemorate the hard work and rejuvenation of our Symphonic Band, a standing band in the stands for the Friday Night Football fans, and most importantly: Tremendous growth in terms of perception, spirit, and cultural buy in to the Marching Vikings.

As you might have heard by now, your 2026 Marching Vikings will return to the field competition, under the name of your alma mater, Central Cabarrus High School. It is a cause for celebration, and recognition that this program is on the rise. We hope to see you be part of our return to form, too. Our success is directly tied to the investment and resilience of key members in this community, of which we are grateful every day, students and staff alike. We will even have nods and references to this in our show theme titled, "When One Door Closes."

In summary, your engagement is a priority to us as we navigate this critically important school year!

Our vision is for this page to become a place where Viking Band alumni from every generation can reconnect, celebrate accomplishments, share memories, and stay involved with the program that helped shape us all. Whether you graduated one year ago or fifty years ago, you are an important part of our story and we cannot wait to hear about yours!

Over the coming months, you can expect to see:

🎢 Marching/Music Monday Highlights
⭐ Alumni Spotlights
πŸ“š Program History
πŸŽ‰ Special Alumni Events
πŸ“¦ Fundraising and Volunteering Opportunities
πŸ—“οΈ Important and Relevant Calendar Information

We're also interested in building a Program History & Alumni Night during Band Camp, where we welcome alumni to share memories, explore the history of the program, and encourage our current students as they begin another season of carrying the tradition forward. If interested, please message us directly or email Mr. Carl.

If you know another Viking Band alumnus who isn't following this page yet, invite them to join us. The more we connect, the stronger our program becomes. Thank you for everything you've done to build the tradition that our students strive to model every day.

Tradition continues with you. Once a Viking, Always a Viking.πŸ’šπŸ’›

A HUGE Congratulations to the Central Cabarrus Symphonic Band!! πŸ’›πŸ’š Last week, the band returned to MPA after 3 years. 3 years of hard work and dedication. The band walked in after a long time away ready to continue the tradition of excellence, and left with a straight Superior rating. We are so proud of all the hard work our musicians have put in. Central Cabarrus is so back!! πŸ’›πŸ’š
