Blue Moon , May 31st, 2026
A second Full Moon rises before May ends.
Rare. Unusual. Repetitive by nature.
The Blue Moon has always carried the feeling of something returning one final time. Not to begin again, but to reveal what still remains unresolved.
On May 31, 2026, the Moon reaches fullness for the second time within the same calendar month, creating one of the rarest lunar phases in the modern calendar. It will not appear blue in the sky. The name comes from older folklore used to describe something uncommon, something outside the ordinary rhythm of time and witches have always known that when the rhythm changes, the energy changes with it.
A Blue Moon feels different from other Full Moons.
Its light carries less expansion and more reflection. Less manifestation and more realization. It does not ask what you want to call in. It asks what keeps repeating.
The same attachment.
The same wound.
The same cycle.
The same version of yourself you keep returning to, even after outgrowing it.
This particular Blue Moon is also a micromoon, occurring when the Moon reaches apogee, its farthest point from Earth. It will appear smaller and softer in the sky, distant in appearance yet emotionally precise and that distance matters.
The Blue Moon creates space between you and what you are observing. Enough space to finally see clearly. Enough space to stop romanticizing what drains you. Enough space to recognize where your energy has been trapped in repetition instead of growth.
In witchcraft, this Moon has long been associated with endings, release work, banishment rituals, uncrossing, and the closing of karmic loops. It is not chaotic energy.
It is corrective energy because the universe will continue placing the same lesson in front of you until you decide whether you are entering the cycle again or finally walking away.
