Looking through old albums today (for drawing inspiration)...
These were taken back in 2021, from our second trip up to Macy Lakes, in the Sangre De Cristo Mountain Range, near Westcliffe, Colorado. The first trip was, of course, when and where Chris proposed to me - at nearly 13,000 ft elevation.
This place was magical long before I knew he was going to propose. I have never, in my life, longed to return to a specific geographical location so intensely. It is a longing that persists no matter how many times I do return. It owns a piece of my soul - one I willingly gave it, so that I might continue to have reason to go back again.
Everyone has that one place. That one place that makes them say "I don't know what it is... but it calls to me". It's not simply about scenic beauty. Sure, Colorado is known for its stunning, rugged scenery. Beautiful places aren't rare. But this one... this one is mine.
