Ok take 2! Peter Formanek and I are happy to announce the start of Ali’s Sanctuary! Between our 8 years of combined experience working in shelters and fostering. In that time we fell in love and added probably too many cats to the mix. Then baby Ali fell into our lap. At less than a week old he was not doing well. He had an upper respiratory infection that stopped him from being able to see, eat, or act like his thriving brothers and sisters. I’m not usually one to think cats are talking to me. I swear he told me “just let me die” as I tried to hand feed him while he rejected it. I told him that we’d do our best to save his life by any means possible through listening to the vet, and going beyond with holistic care such as massage therapy. And if god forbid he was meant to take his last breath we’d give him the world til then. It was time to get to work: we bottle fed Ali every 4 hours diligently, we applied eye drops to his eyes crusted shut multiple times a day, we kept him warm with a heater, we stimulated him to have his little poops, we kept his mama and siblings close by so as he got stronger they accepted him again. I’m incredibly grateful that he survived that first night, let alone to this day. And today he’s the happiest boy. Always purring, comes when called, eyes wide open, and loving life. Our mission is to save as many kittens and mamas as possible. Everything we’ve trained for is for this.

Volunteers in the Kalamazoo area or willing to travel to help work the Sanctuary as it will be manned close to if not 24/7 between Peter, volunteers, and I. We will need lots of loving hands.

Local vets looking to partner! If local, talk to your vet and see if they’re interested in joining forces to save more lives.
We will soon have banking options to contribute anywhere from $1-$50,000.
Down payment help. The sanctuary is going to cost some serious start up cash and we’re already at $30,000 raised, just have to get the other half figured out. Any possible help toward that would be forever appreciated and we have a cool program set up for paying back the loan.
A special agreement for anyone within 2 hours of Kalamazoo to get 2 free 60 minute massage therapy sessions to use or gift to friends/family as I will be a certified massage therapist in 6 months and have a beautiful massage studio. Once profit starts to flow, the principal will be paid back on a monthly basis and massages will continue until principal is paid back.
Business partners that believe in our mission and ability to earn them their income back for the building we would like to use for our sanctuary, home, and for profit businesses in this specially zoned building.
