"Textured Travels" plays Art Haus Unlimited: a fine art gallery showcasing contemporary paintings and photography in a beautifully restored storefront in Italian Village. We host Twilight Soirée which is a venue for performance in the gallery, the vibe is like attending is an intimate house concert. We serve a complimentary sip and you can also BYOsip. On this day in 2004, Julia Child died at the age of 91.

It's said that Child held homophobic views earlier in her life, but her perspective changed during the AIDS crisis when her longtime attorney and close friend, Bob Johnson, became ill with AIDS. She supported him through the final months of his life before his death in 1986.

The experience changed her. Child went on to speak publicly about the AIDS crisis and advocate for greater care and support for people living with the disease.

At an AIDS benefit in 1988, she asked the question in this quote, calling attention to those who were dying without friends or family by their side.

Her story is a reminder that people can confront their own prejudices, change their minds, and choose to do better.
