Ready to level up your woodworking skills? In this two day course, you will learn how to turn a small wooden bowl and a natural edge bowl from green wood. We will dive into the process of selecting and preparing, mounting the wood on the lathe, discuss tool selection/use and sharpening, shaping/turning of the outside/inside, sanding/finishing and drying of green wood.

Starting NEXT FRIDAY, 4/28, we'll be hosting a lunch-time Zoom event. We'll present a few examples of design/fabrication, we'll offer a quick, beginner-friendly "introduction to a maker concept" presentation (in this case "How to bring your maker projects to life with Arduino"), followed by a Q&A with our community. The Kaufman Development team held a great team building event with us: everything from virtual reality (VR) to fire tiles to welding. We can host events for 2 to 200 attendees with company branded make and take stations, along with customizable programming.

Our fall family event was a smashing success! Families painted, carved and embellished their pumpkins with laser cut wings, flashing LED eyes and glitter. While spooky tunes played and pizzas were made all the mummies and daddies relished in the fact that the clean up wasn't theirs to deal with!
We created the Idea Foundry to have a place where anyone can explore their urge to make things. Working together, we marry ideas and talents, tools and resources, experience and opportunity into a shared community of making. A place where furniture and sculpture and jewelry and drones and motorcycles and 3D printers and chess boards and video games come to life in the hands of artists, artisans, techies and entrepreneurs. Our Idea Foundry is both a physical place – 60,000 sq ft of workshops and offices; working nooks, classrooms and communal spaces – and a state of mind; the belief that each of us has the potential to bring our ideas to life if given the space, the equipment and the support to empower our inner maker.
