🎉 HAPPY 15TH ANNIVERSARY TO SOUL DOPE ENTERTAINMENT! 🎉

This month marks 15 years since Soul Dope Entertainment began. I set out with a simple vision: to create a dedicated platform where independent artists could shine, connect, and thrive.

Today, I'm reflecting on the incredible journey from a grassroots showcase to a powerhouse brand. 🥂✨

Here are the key milestones that defined the Soul Dope story:
2011 | The Vision. I started by hosting the debut event at Vonn Jazz. The debut show was a variety show featuring local singers, comedians, and musicians. It was a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House.

2012–2023 | Expansion. An ecosystem took form as we rapidly scaled up across the city, establishing a massive regional footprint through ongoing community showcases, a signature open mic , the launch of multiple media platforms such as The Corner Video Show and The Soul Dope Show podcast, social/community events such as the "Like Water for Flint: Benefit Concert, the anti-gun violence March on Livingston, Black Artist Solidarity Day, Double Dutch and Brunch, and Spades and Brunch pop-up events, and partnerships with various social justice and community support groups.

2024 | Defining the Culture. We took things to the next level by launching the annual Soul Dope Awards to honor independent music milestones and setting the stage for major cultural community celebrations. The first Ohio R&B Music Festival took place, putting direct funding, major festival staging, and marketing resources behind our state's indie R&B performers.

2026 | The Next Chapter & Radio Debut. To mark 15 years, we executed a major corporate rebrand into a full-scale Marketing & Business Development Agency! This year also marks the official launch of the intimate Soul Dope Sessions studio series and the exciting expansion of The Soul Dope Show moving to live radio!

To every artist who has blessed our stages, every partner who has sat at our spades tables, and every supporter who has cheered us on since 2011—THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!

About The Artist:

Akoiya is a Neo-Soul singer/songwriter from Columbus, Ohio, whose musical journey began at birth. Raised in a home where music was a huge part of daily life-her mother a pianist and her small family church right on East Livingston—she started honing her craft as early as four years old. Gospel music was her foundation, leading her to perform in various choirs, singing groups, musicals, studying Music Therapy, Music Business, and eventually branching out as a solo artist.

While pursuing her degree, Akoiya decided to make the DMV her home, spending years in different parts of Maryland before fully embracing the area as her second home. Now, after 12 years in the city, she proudly represents both the DMV and Columbus, Ohio as part of her artistic identity.

Akoiya’s music is deeply rooted in storytelling, empowerment, love, and the lessons that shape us.

Miiracle sees singing as an outlet and a way for her to express herself. In 2017, she dropped her first project and took off performing and collabing with other local creatives around the city of Columbus. She credits this and her supporters for her growth as an artist. Her current project, Big B***y Crashout, is available now on all streaming platforms.

About The Artist:

D.O.T.Y first became interested in music at the age of 3! She grew up participating in competitions and shows, including church events with her mother and little sister. For the last 4 years, D.O.T.Y has been a mainstream artist with 3 singles out nationally.

In 2024, she won "Best Vocalist" at the Midwest Honors in Ohio. She also won the "Artist on the Verge" Trap Music Award from Atlanta, Georgia. D.O.T.Y continues to build her portfolio and brand by staying in the studio, touring, and promoting.
