One of our piercers was apart of a very meaningful story with a client named Shobitha.

Shobitha has roots in Madurai, a village in southern India where Tamil is spoken. Growing up she used to see her grandmother wearing this type of jewelry on her ear, placed in what is known as the koppu piercing, an area that is also connected to an acupuncture point.

The jewelry used is 22k gold and is not something we usually place as a first piercing. In this case, our piercer made an exception due to its deep emotional and cultural significance.

Traditionally, this piercing is cared for using coconut oil and turmeric, following ancestral healing practices.

Thank you to our wonderful piercer who allowed us to share this story and to our clients who give us their trust.
