Made a cool lil’Dragon last week for the Union county Ohio fair, for my old friends at the Mascot Organization
It turned out pretty good despite 95° temperature at 80% humidity !
I built the majority of it in my studio (air conditioned, of course ) but perform the 45 minute improvisation show as I assembled the pieces and built the feet and wings on stage.

I have never had luck with black balloons with the “major brands “but because those companies are having issues these days, I have not been able to get the balloons ….
So…I switched over and have been working with Decomex for the last couple years.
They are by far the best black balloons I have ever worked with! I probably twisted 50 or 60 black and red 350s on stage in that horrible heat, stormy weather, and only had two or three pop, which was probably my fault, and not the Balloon itself .
The sculpture sat on stage for the rest of that afternoon under a tent, without popping!!

I have not been in contact with the Decomex company , I’m not endorsed in any way, but I would suggest to check them out if you’re looking for a new Balloon brand.

FestivAll 2025 in Charleston West Virginia had me back again!

I have had the privilege of building 16 Balloon Art Installations for FestivALL in the beautiful City of Charleston over the past 18 years( missed the 2 Covid years)

This years theme is “The Monsters of West Virginia”

The three Cryptids are:

1: The Flatwoods Monster aka the Braxton County Monster (the green floating one with the red face)
About 7’ tall -approximately 225 balloons - took me 6-7 hours to build

2: a fun Sasquatch aka BigFoot hiding behind a pillar
Around 9’ tall, approximately 175 balloons - 6-7 hours to build

3: primary sculpture :
The MOTHMAN
20’ tall - 28’ wingspan - approximately 1,200 balloons - 26 hours to build over two days

The massive MothMan was quite challenging but completely worth it!

But I think that the best part of this whole process was the people that I met and befriended while working in this magnificent facility! And it’s incredible staff!

I finished the Installation today and it will be available for public viewing for the couple of weeks , at least untill June 2nd ( hopefully it stays solid and looking good longer)

With the help of my amazing fuzzy assistants I have finished the design and ordered over 13,000 balloons for this project!
If you are in the Charleston West Virginia area this coming week June 17 through the 23rd, stop by the Clay center and see this project in action!
It will be completely finished and ready for public viewing on Friday evening, the 21st and open on Saturday and Sunday during the amazing celebration of the arts of West Virginia,

Hey everybody!
My apologies for not posting for almost 5 years!!! Wow has it really been that long!?!?!?
I guess that I’ve been busy creating and Living in this extraordinary life of mine!!!!

I took a bit of a break from the balloon world when Covid hit,. I Am Back now! Watch out!

So ….
The city of Charleston West Virginia has an anual 2week long event called FestivALL that celebrates art in many forms and creates fantastic opportunities for the community.
Since 2008 I have had the honor of creating huge sculptures made from thousands of balloons for the public to enjoy. The process is 5 days , hundreds of man hours and many thousandsof balloons to inflate AND TIE!
The entire build, from the boxes of uninflated balloons to the completed sculpture is available for public viewing during the facility’s open hours.

Please come see it happen this year at the Clay Center in Charleston West Virginia June 17th - 21st and enjoy all that this beautiful city has to offer!

Exciting news! Our newly adopted cat just had 5 kittens last night!!!!
Also I will be making balloon art at the New Albany Ohio Roosters Wings tonight from 6:00 -8:00.

I am Grateful for my skills and the path they have led me! The opportunities that I have had are absolutely amazing! Just recently on my personal page "Aaron Doc Hay" a 7 year memory popped up of my birthday while on a trip in CHINA!!! ....
I also love to cook! and somehow the Kitchen Manager from the Hotel found out and asked if I could teach their Chef how to make Pizza! A few days later I had my 39th birthday there and the kitchen made me a special pizza! funny thing is it was only a half of pizza because the Chef and staff had to taste it before serving! and unfortunately they used fish oil instead of Olive oil...!!! I still ate it and complimented the Chef...It was an amazing gesture and compliment....... and here are some more Photos from that incredible experience! Thank you Paul Belanger for that great opportunity

Halloween was a good time to play! I was Hired for an all day Dentist office and had some time between kids to make another patient! Then at an auto dealership that kept me longer to make them a new receptionist!
