Ohio Dominican University Panther Players The Panther Players of Ohio Dominican University is a student-run Theatre organization that performs

Between the academic years of 2004-2005 and 2005-2006, ODU Theatre officially became a fully student-run group. During the spring of 2007, the Ohio Dominican Student Theatre performed the musical Grease. It was during this performance that the idea of forming a well-organized, entirely student-run theatre organization surfaced. Many years before, Ohio Dominican performed through the mediums of both black box theatre and improvisation under the faculty direction of Dr. William Vensel. The student theatre operated similar to that of a high school department, with student involvement limited to positions of actors, stage crew, and technicians. During Grease, however, a small group of students assembled, united in the pursuit of a different vision of Theatre at Ohio Dominican. A hierarchy was outlined with a constitution drafted in the basement of Wherle Hall. With that, the Panther Players of Ohio Dominican University was established – a fully student-run organization whose mission it became to preserve a conduit for the theatrical and performing arts while encouraging student involvement and building a community around said arts.
