Formed in 1985 in Austin, Texas, Nice Strong Arm relocated to New York after the recording of their second album Mind Furnace where they were rapidly absorbed into the city’s already densely populated alternative rock scene.
One of the original proponents of the
“Homestead” sound, Nice Strong Arm quickly found comparison with the likes of Live Skull, Phantom Tollbooth and Sonic Youth as well as criticism that focused on the evident influence of the latter on the band’s 1987 début Reality Bath.
This early work was characterized by seemingly directionless, swirling dirges, however later recordings showed a growing sophistication which verged on art rock territory.

Dauber is a rock and roll band from Hudson, NY. Like any good rock and roll band, Dauber is rough around the edges, but bursting with vibrant, uninhibited energy. This power trio serves up loud distortion, raw spirit, and infectious melodies in a way that feels primal yet carefully constructed. Dauber is like a crude painter, daubing blobs of paint on canvas in a messy yet deliberate burst of creation. Their debut album, Falling Down, was released on Recess Records in April of 2025

Buffalo-based rock & roll guitarist-songwriter Jake King leads the live sound of the fast and loud Jake King Band. Formed to support his unmistakably-titled “Rock And Roll” tape, the band puts a new primitive spin on those original 4-track song experiments. Also as a member of the Buffalo garage group T.T.T.T., King is no stranger to recording and performing the raw blown-out way, worn on sleeve. His new LP “Eyelashes” will be out on California DIY label Record Beach this November.
