I’m a huge Fan of Meg Newberg and Polymer Clay Workshop I challenged myself yesterday on the Owl cane from October of 2024
(I think).

I have NEVER EVER done an eye cane in my life except for a black dot 🤣🤣 that had me a nervous wreck.

I reduced it this morning I ran out of time yesterday. A little wonky but for a first try I think it’s pretty good.

This Polymer Clay Red Poinsettia Cane was a big one for me! I went a little crazy with the red flower petals!! It’s a beauty.

2 1/2” tall by 4 1/2” wide cane caps were used to reduce it.

Yesterday I attempted it, it wasn’t easy!! This is the cane packed inn translucent Polymer Clay and the reduced cane.

It was quite the challenge!! Well done Meg!!

| needed Sunflowers desperately I was running out and it’s a very popular Flower!

I gathered up all my Premo by Sculpey Cadmium Yellow, White, Gold, Ecru and Burnt Umber polymer clay together and my plan was to get this Sunflower done in one day, it did take a whole.

I waited a full day before attempting to reduce it as I wanted all the clay to reach the same temperature. Reducing polymer clay of different temperatures can cause distortion.

Once I reduced it and did the first slice, I was honestly disappointed on how the cane turned out. I found sooo much I didn't like about it and it wasn't what I was going for.

It had been 4 years since I had made a sunflower. Friends told me it was GREAT!! I just didn't see it.

So, I set out to make another one. Meanwhile, it started growing on my and loved it!!! I can't explain it.

The rainbow cane was a special request!
