Happy Pride week !

Although it seems I wasn't cool enough to be invited to the party this year, I still hope everyone has a safe and amazing week. Let us also not forget the REAL reason for the season and why it's important that we have these celebrations and rallies!

👀⚠️ Report any suspicious activities no matter how insignificant they may seem

Remember to pack your patience for our bartenders and entertainers as, they work marathons over these periods and last thing they need is a Karen or Karl telling them how to do their job!

As the weekend closes, my heart is still full from the last couple of days. There were a few lessons learned but it didn't end up diminshing my spirit for Pride. It does change a few things on how I plan to show up for some moving forward.

I do wanna thank those that actually made the journey and effort from afar in some conversations to come out, see, and support me and Blak Cherri this weekend. Your support means the world to us and we hope you had a great time. Thank you to The Stage Door for allowing us a night to do what we love so much!

Taking a few days off social media to regroup, rest, and focus on being present.

** LONG POST (but worth it) **

Words alone can't express the gratitude I have for not only for my hometown but to be honored during their Pride celebration with an award in the namesake of someone we all loved so dear means the world to me and I will cherish this forever. The Legendary Misty Knight meant so much not only to me but to all that knew her. There's not a time I don't think of her especially as of recently and to have this award in honor of you as well, I only hope to become half as legendary as you were!

Thank you Dayton, Ohio for your ears and your love these last 26 years. I hear some people say they actually grew up listening to me not only at Celebrity but at Masque makes me smile [and feels weird. It doesn't feel like that much tome has passed 🤣🤣]. I have always done this for the love of the music and to be recognized is amazing as DJs tend to not get that recognition on normal a basis. I receive this award openly with all the love and gratitude in my heart for you!

To the Greater Dayton LGBT Center, thank you so much for providing such an amazing celebration of, well us! You are such a gem in the city and seeing you and the Festival evolve into what it is today makes me smile so much.

To Ms. Darryl Demure, to be honored by you is a honor in itself for me. I have no words for the love I have for you and what you do with your platform to showcase your community and always lifting those up around you.

To Miss Hill, who told a 18 year old kid on 1999 "You're going to be a DJ and I'm going to show you how!", everything DJ Venus is I owe to you and hope that I've made you proud!

My heart is full with all the love today and I can't wait to spend my night with all of you!

​As you head out to celebrate this weekend, let’s keep it fun and intentional!

​Stay Hydrated: Between the dancing and the sun, keep that water bottle handy. Your body will thank you.

​Look Out for Each Other: Stay safe, keep your friends close, and stick together.

​Remember the Roots: While we celebrate some of our progress, we have a LONG way to go. Take a moment to reflect on the activists who fought for our right to be here. Pride started as a riot, let’s honor that history with purpose.
