Happy small business Saturday!

Flashback to February of last year. Setting up the exhaust system in the attic to prepare for the arrival of this giant machine that we knew nothing about. All we knew was that we wanted to turn my art into something people could wear. And we wanted to figure it out together.

We didn't know how to operate a laser (or how insanely finicky they are to actually do what you want them to). I didn't know that my background in graphic design was not enough, and I had to learn to create things through a different lens.

Huge investment decisions. Health and safety research. Navigating the process of starting a legal business. Getting our workspace built and up to code. Learning and unlearning. Countless trial and error. Brand creation. Material and supplier sourcing. And that was only the beginning.

The invisible side of starting a business is heavy, and when it's a small business like ours without a huge team of people doing the work, it can be absolutely consuming.

We ARE Bubble & Beam. We don't just work here. It is an extention of us and our shared love of bringing little pockets of joy to those who wear or use our products. Please shop small this holiday season and help support families and dreams like ours!

Coming soon!!

We've been hard at work getting these custom ornaments ready for pre-orders at the Missouri House Rabbit Rescue holiday party this Sunday from 12-4! 10 percent of all of our party sales will go directly to the rescue, so if you're in the St. Louis area, please stop by and support an awesome cause!

For everyone else, we'll plan to get these up in our shop next week. Should I start working on cats? 🤔 Dogs? Tell us your Bubble & Beam holiday wish list!

I'm pretty sure the traditional way to celebrate your 17th wedding anniversary is by going on a business trip, hanging out at a pre-Bunfest “Hoppy Hour“ with some amazing rescue friends you've collected over your first year in business, and then sneaking out early for a dinner and ice cream date... Right?

Regardless of whether we spend our anniversary at a romantic getaway or a busy hotel petting bunnies together, it's always packed with so many fun memories. Forever grateful for this man and all of the adventures we share.

San Diego Bunnyfest was fantastic! We've had such a beautiful, restorative trip. Looking forward to returning next year.

We try to drive for Bubble & Beam events when possible, because it's a major challenge to fit everything we need in our two suitcases to fly. I made it more complicated with this new display I put together to create a more booth type feel for our first outdoor tent event.

I stared helplessly from our things to our luggage, saying aloud that it was impossible and we'd need to check a third suitcase. Nick is an absolute legend and fit it all in our two suitcases with less than a pound to spare without an oversize charge. The best partner in life AND business!
